“Dated decor, but excellent food!”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

I felt like I was walking back in time about 30 years when I walked into this place. Don't let the dated decor fool you though, the food here was top notch. Service at the bar was great. The staff was very friendly. The steaks were fantastic. Good salad bar as well!

“always great..”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

the black otter is our favorite place to eat. it is a little out of the way for us to drive from neenah, but it is worth it. the salad bar is the best we've had. most of the time i go just for the salad bar. the steaks are wonderful. cooked just the way you want them. we try to get there early or go during the week as it does get pretty crowded on weekends.

“Consistent Again and Again!”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

The Black Otter has been one of my favorite supper clubs for many years! The food is always consistently good, very good portions for the price, cocktails are poured well, and the salad bar is the best in the area! Two kinds of soups, 6 variety of cheese, fresh rolls, plenty of topping and dressing choices for your salad, and the salads are wonderful. We tend to gravitate to the Black Otter when we are looking to take out of town guests someplace to eat and they are always impressed! Also, the owners are on site every weekend and you can tell the turnover is low which tells me the employees are happy! I also must mention that the service is always outstanding....the servers and bartenders are always friendly and efficient.

“Hard to predict”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

There is something about a supper club that is traditional . Black Otter does not disappoint in that department. It's great fun to bring someone who has never been, the smallest cut of prime rib is 32 oz. A table near us had the 64 oz, which was entertaining. Steaks are good, my daughter and I shared the large tenderloin, and I have over half left. They were, however, over seasoned. Prices are super reasonable, the bill for a round of our drinks and one soda was$14. Think it was happy hour. The clam chowder was stone cold, with the wait staff saying there was nothing to be done. So, expect nothing, but you should come out feeling like the bill was worth it.
