“Hidden gem restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2014

Jacobi's is an friendly, intimate and charming restaurant. It is a bit off the road but easy to find. If you want a special evening in a quiet and comfortable atmosphere - this is the place.. The food is great. Small appetizers are included with the entrees. The drinks are good and the service is always superb.

“Great Food and Service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014

We celebrated our anniversary at this local favorite, and it was wonderful. I had chicken and scallops with artichoke hearts over linguini, and it was delicious! And the mushroom and rosemary soup was terrific, thick with mushrooms. My husband had their special, chicken with pecan honey. For dessert he had a delicious creme brulee and I had a melt-in-my mouth raspberry-chocolate cake. Our server was very personable and helped make it a memorable evening. Food is always superior here, a quiet gourmet restaurant in the northwoods.

“So Close, but.....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014

We have dined at Jacobi's at least once a year for the past 20 years. Joacobi's is about 5 min from home and very convenient. We've had great meals there, and, unfortunately, not so great meals there. That's why we don't eat there more often.

Tonight, the food was good....Not exceptional, but very good. But on a Monday night, when half the tables were empty, it took almost a half hour after we placed our orders to get our salads. Then, shortly after delivering the salads, the waitress brought our main course and exclaimed in surprise that the food was finished so fast.

C'mon......she was out having a smoke and talking on her cell phone, and the only reason we got the salads when we did was because somebody told her the food was ready, and she had to serve the salads first.

Jacobi's is considered fine dining, but in the north woods that's a slippery definition. We think the food is pretty good and fairly priced. It's not at all unique in the Minocqua area.....you can get a comparable experience in several other restaurants.

Always known for their their great steaks they have a wonderful chicken Parmesan special every now and then, and their chicken Marsala is to die for. Yes, I eat here a lot, and I have reviewed before, because they are the best.

“A restaurant in a rural setting with some excellent menu choices!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2014

This restaurant is just a bit off Highway 51 next to a small lake and in the woods. It is an older building but I think it's charming, and it has the feel of a historic house. I agree with the reviewer who loved the steak gorgonzola -- yum. Also their walleye is excellent. The old style bar has a generous bartender, and there I would recommend the Manhattans! A relaxing and intimate setting with a country feel. It's our special occasion restaurant in the Wisconsin Northwoods.
