We made reservations for noon and got seated almost right away and had a very nice server named Alac...we all had the buffet and noticed the extremely long and slow line...we must have been in line for almost 20 minutes and finally when we get to the food we started running into empty containers...no bacon...no ribs...no chicken..and we and alot of other people standing in line also complaining about no food....as servers went by we told them and they said its coming .....never did..then get to the omelette station and were told our server should have taken our order..He didn't and they wouldn't take it either ...then the carving station had ran out of prime rib and he informed us they didnt have any left and might get a brisket...that never happened....they had no salad...only vegetable was corn on the kobb and that was always empty..no fruit....desserts were hardly any and the waffle station was filled with kids playing with it....we are extremely dissapointed with Famous Daves....

Luke, the best waiter in Sawyer County, had recommended we come back for the fish fry. We hadn't had Friday fish fry at Famous Dave's in 3-4 years, back when it was the buffet. The new presentation is the typical Friday night fish fry ... breaded ... a fairly thick batter, but not greasy at all. And a substantial bite, nicely spicy!! A choice of two of Dave's sides ... the Wilbur beans are always outstanding. Also had the firecracker (peppery) green beans. Mine tasted stale. My partner devoured his, so maybe it's just me. It was all-you-can-eat, and most of us did reorder. I was surprised that my tall scotch and water was cheaper than my dining partners' bottled beer! And we all still miss long-time bartender Lance that has moved on to management in another Famous Dave's location. We love Dave and his restaurant, and the commitment he has to his hometown. Many dining establishments are closed all of April this year, so we appreciate that Dave has stayed open seven nights a week.

It's a very interesting, rustic place. Son took us here when he was here for the Birki, so it was winter snow, high and dark, so missed the outdoor beauty. Staff was lite, understNDbly considering and the food was OK. We've eaten at Famous Daves's in sioux city, it was tops there.,

Fun place with great variety on the menu. The ribs are fabulous, along with all the BBQ sauce options. Get the All American BBQ Feast if you want to try out a few different meats and sides in one sitting, plus who doesn’t love eating off of a garbage can lid? Looking forward to going back in the summer and sitting out on the deck, which has a beautiful view of the lake.
