“Very nice hotel - great staff, good beds”
Reviewed April 26, 2010

For the price and your other choices in the area, definitely a good deal. The rooms are nice, beds are good and staff was great. Good pool and workout room also. Breakfast is OK, slightly better than average.

We stayed w/o a reservation. Room was cheaper than other options in hayward. Rooms are big, two queens and a pull out couch. very clean rooms. breakfast is great, more than a traditional free breakfast. they have waffels, eggs, ect. They take pets, are on snowmobile trails.

Quiet, up-to-date, well-kept, roomy suites, and reasonably priced, we thought. Public areas are also roomy and comfortable, there is an outdoor patio area, and even seating on their dock. Breakfast room was very nice and nicely monitored, too.

I hate to be the first reviewer to find something negative about this lodging, but we were simply not as impressed with this facility as other reviewers seem to have been. It was not poor by any means, but not up to the standard of some of the other numerous Comfort Suites we've stayed in. Most of them have a large desk area, many with a regular office chair, for computer use. This one had a tiny round table and no accessible power outlet without unplugging a light. The internet signal was fine, though a little slow for awhile. In addition, the vanity is in the room, which was not a problem for us, but the bathroom itself was so small that one could hardly turn around in it. On the positive side, the room and bathroom were very clean and fresh with good towels. We did not use the pool or exercise facility, so I can't speak to the quality of those.

Our biggest issue was with the AC unit which rattled continually and then awakened us at 1 a.m. sounding like a freight train was going through the room. We had to turn it off. When I mentioned this when checking out, I was told that when the temperature outside gets too low, the unit "freezes up" and this loud throbbing noise happens. So I have been trying to figure out since what we should have done---not use the AC because the temp outside might get too low? Go outside periodically to check whether the temp was low and then turn it off? None of this makes any sense, obviously. We've never had anything like this in all, and it's been many, the lodgings we've stayed in. I suggested that they probably should post a sign as to this possibility and tell people what to do when it happens. It sounded like an excuse to me for a poor HVAC system.

When my nightly charge creeps over $100 a night, I expect two things--a clean room and a good night's sleep. We only got one out of two here.

We thank you for your business and apologize for the issue encountered regarding the safe charge. Our safes do have stickers stating a minimal fee for its use located on top of the safe but in response to your comment we have decided to add an additional sticker to the front of the safe. We do offer our guests both firm and soft pillows on the bed. We understand pillows as well as mattresses are a very personal item and it can be difficult meet the preferences of all our guest. We do welcome you to stay with us in the future.

I stayed here both in June of 2006 with our family and April of 2009 as a couple, staying without the kids. We enjoyed the comfy king bed with extra pillows that were super comfy. The rooms are great with couch/chair seating area. We had a great view of Lake Hayward. Our stay was quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is on a nice sized property. The lodge feel is great. They have lots of open areas and a wonderful breakfast set-up.

I decided to surprise my wife with a little Valentines getaway to Hayward, WI this year and we were very pleased with our accommodations at this Comfort Suites. They had a jacuzzi room available, great tripadvisor reviews, and excellent looking photos, so I went ahead and booked it.

We were both very happy overall. The staff was nice thoughout our stay, the room was clean and just what I was expecting, and the "lodge" design was very neat to say the least. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Hayward, WI.

This is an excellent Comfort Suites. The setting is beautiful with large lawns both in front and in back going down to the lake. There is a nice children's playground. There is an indoor swimming pool, and it looks like there is a dock and lake swimming in the summer. The rooms are immaculate and up to date. The lights could have used some higher watt bulbs. The shower pressure was only mediocre. The common rooms are extraordinary with nice furniture and excellent views. They allow up to 2 dogs, but there is a charge, and there are no 'dog facilities.' When a hotel charges, I think they should have a fenced in dog area.

  • Liked — clean, functional hotel
  • Disliked — poor water pressure, low wattage lights
