Reconstructed and original structure site. Amazing history. Beautifully kept grounds. Could spend quite a bit of time there.

We came out for the day not realizing it was a special day when volunteers were doing a Civil War reenactment. But that made the day extra special. We fully enjoyed the day. The historical buildings were great, but the soldiers camping out all over, the court martial, the reenactment, and the tram were all great benefits. Such a cool place. I don't know how this place is on a regular day, but on the day we went, by pure luck, it was fabulous.

Can't beat the price of only $10 per adult. Discounts or free admission for children, seniors, members of the military. We met six actors" on the day we visited. All were personable and knowledgeable. Special thanks to the lady at the farmstead who was wonderful! Didn't ride the tram, included w/admission, bc while the tram stops are on the map, they are not marked in place. Actually the entire park has fewer informational signs than we're used to seeing. The tram driver didn't so much as smile or wave until abt the fifth time we met him. Never slowed in case we wanted to ask for a ride altho he passed a lady on a bench who began yelling for him to stop and he did pick her up. The flower gardens in front of entrance are well-maintained and gorgeous.

My kids love the holiday activities. Halloween was / is our favorite one. Make you feel like you were trick or treating in that time. Very neat with the ghost stories and apples. Big bond fire to warm up with. Also a great place for a field trips. Barn yard animal to see. Neat little village.

Great place to take the family for a relaxing yet educational experience. Each building offers something unique and the kids were able to do hands-on projects.
The previous year we visited during the Laura Ingalls Wilder days. Don't pass that up if you have the opportunity.
