Aloft Green Bay
Ranked #28 of 42 Hotels in Green Bay
Reviewed August 1, 2009

Just spent 4 nights at Aloft Green Bay. We flew in to Green Bay to attend the EAA Airventure in Oshkosh, about 30 miles away. Hotels in Oshkosh are full and/or ridiculously priced. The Aloft was very reasonably priced.

The hotel is very close to a river, and we had a riverview room. The rooms are ultra modern, as is the whole hotel. There is a large flat screen TV in the room, with connections for any audio or video device you want. It has VGA, HDMI as well as standard audio/video inputs. Plenty of outlets to plug your electronics into, as well as free wireless and wired internet.

This is also the only hotel I have ever stayed in with a 24 hour pool and jacuzzi. If you're a kid, the pool closes at 11. I'm not, so that was great!

We called the hotel when we arrived to arrange a pick up at the airport. We discovered that Aloft has a 24 hour courtesy van service, and they will take you anywhere in the immediate area. We didn't need a car for our stay which saved us quite a bit of money. We did take advantage of the van service often.

The staff was the friendliest and most caring of any hotel I have ever stayed at. Without exception, everyone was cheerful and helpful, anxious to do whatever was necessary to make our stay more enjoyable. Check in was a breeze, coffee is available at the front desk for a smile (literally, the sign says if you smile at me coffee is free)!

We took advantage of the staff's knowledge of the area to find restaurants. Every recommendation was superb!

This is the only hotel I will ever consider the next time I am in the area!

We were attending the Railway Museum for the "A Day Out with Thomas" event and ran into this hotel. The location was within walking distance to the musuem and close driving distance to restaurants/shops. Having traveled extensively in the US and in Europe, we were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and outstanding service we received. The staff was more than friendly as we chatted about things to do around the area, the town, Packer season, etc. The hotel was very clean and has a fun modern motif. The hotel itself is not located in a picturesque part of GB but we were happy with the amentities and liked how central it was located to what we needed. The hotel is not necessarily kid friendly (don't expect a water park, game room or bathtubs in the rooms) but we personallly avoid those types of hotels. They do have a small pool to enjoy and a nice outside area to sit and relax (with some traffic noise from the nearby expressway). We even sat in the bar and enjoyed some complimentary cocktails while the kids played with the games left out for guests to enjoy. There was a nice workout room which we didn't take advantage of. Either way our kids, ages 4 and 5, thought the place was really neat and we enjoyed hotel that wasn't the run of the mill travel hotel.

Agree wholeheartedly with what stetienne2 just posted. We also stayed here this past weekend, but using hotel points. (Beware, your GPS will probably get you lost, best to call the hotel and have them direct you to their location!!.) The chic, hip feel of this hotel is a refreshing change for Green Bay. As stetienne2 stated, I have to think big-city travelers, will find a lot of comforts staying here even though it is out of the way. We had a king bed, flat screen tv, pocket door separates toilet and stall shower w/rain showerhead from the modern sink/vanity area which has mini fridge, coffee maker, safe and mini shelves to hang and set folded clothes. Fitness center, pool, jacuzzi (overrun by teens at the time, forgot our suits anyway.) Because it's new, it's really clean, but i'm sure after the first Packer season that will change like most hotels. Great friendly staff.

My friend and I roadtripped to Green Bay, Wisconsin, searching for Friday fish fries and cool locals. This is pretty much a lifeless kinda town (unless you're into the Packers and football)...however, the aLoft Hotel -- with its hip concept and cool decor -- pretty much saved our day here in GB.

The GB aLoft Hotel opened about 7 weeks ago, according to the concierge, and apparently is doing pretty well. The aLoft is basically a more inexpensive chain of W Hotels, so if you like the humor and the style of the W's around the world, you'll definitely enjoy staying at the aLoft. Except the aLoft are only available in less glamorous locales such as, uhm, Green Bay, WI (the chain is supposed to expand to larget markets like Chicago in the near future).

My immediate reaction after seeing the lobby and our fantastic room for the first time was "why would such a cool hotel open in such a boring city"? Some of the amenities of the GB aLoft include a decent fitness room, a pool area, free internet stations (which I'm typing on right now), and a 24-hour "convenient store" in the lobby area. There's also the WXYZ Bar with happy hour 4:00-6:00pm every day.

My friend and I shared a spacious room with two queen beds. Comfy beds, Bliss beauty products, and a humongous flat screen telly. The only downside about this hotel is that the location kinda sucks -- this is built right by the expressway and slightly outside of Green Bay proper. However, you have to drive to GB anywhere you go, so it's fine.

I would stay at the aLoft chain again if there were one available in the middle of nowhere U.S.A.! I have a feeling that this chain of hotels will ease a lot of urbanites' fears about roadtrips to unfamiliar states and territories.
