We typically stay at another hotel when in Green Bay, but decided to branch out. Even my husband, who is sometimes a tough sell was impressed. Check-in was quick and easy. The hotel, which is older, was in excellent repair. Our room had obviously been updated and refreshed in the past year or two. It was roomy and well appointed. The beds were extremely confortable.
The only area on which they may need to work is housekeeping. I am not sure black patterned carpeting is such a good idea. How do you ever keep it looking clean? There were several pieces of popcorn scattered around under the beds. The only reason I noticed them was that the bed skirt had been pushed up under the mattress when the bed had been made. In the bathroom I found lots of soft fluffy towels and a nice supply of toiletries. The only problem was there were two facial soap bars and no bath bars. Again, not a big deal.
We left for breakfast and a bit of touring the next morning, I did not expect them to change the sheets, but I was very surprised to find that they had remade the beds and put my wet hair towel on the foot of the bed. They left the wet towels we had hung on the bathroom door hook. They added a couple of fresh hand towels and a bar of bath soap. As far as we could tell, that was the extent of their cleaning. The floor could have used a quick once over. Everything shows on that black carpeting.
Soon after we checked in, four people who were obviously having a good time (they came with a huge cooler) checked in directly next door. We were apprehensive, but happy to learn that this hotel is quite soundproof. Occasionally we could hear a woman's voice, usually laughing, but it did not disturb us in any way.
Since we were there for a Packer game we did not check out the pool area. I could see it from our window and it appeared very large and looked like it might be fun on another visit.
Overall, we had a very nice stay. I am sure that if I had complained about any of the small issues they would have been quickly remedied. It wasn't a big deal, but it is part of an honest review.
We are already planning a revisit next Fall. Green Bay is a great town. Go Pack!
