I would have to say that this place is pretty much the biggest s-hole I have EVER stayed in. The only thing good about it was the staff, they are all pretty nice and friendly...but it IS Wisconsin
where everyone is pretty much a kind person.
They obvious take advantage of home games, which is why we were there, but it is difficult to
justify $300 a night for two tiny beds in a worn out room, with a sink that doesn't even drain
This is "close" to the staduim, we walked back after the game, but it's not close enough for older
people to walk. Although the shuttle bus does literally pick up right across the street. I'd say the
location is good, the accomodations though are horrible for the price.
They DO have fresh coffee at all times in the lobby, which is nice.
Thank you for pointing our our friendly staff and closeness to Lambeau Field. I apologize if your stay didn't meet your expectations. It sounds like the Packer rates for Green Bay are most of the disgruntlement. Hotels in Green Bay (as well as any where else) typically raise rates based on events going on in the area. We encourage folks to book early and call hotels directly for be the best rates; I would encourage you to give us a call directly next time you are in town for a Packer game.
Came to town for the Packer/Vikings game, and honestly Travelodge was the only hotel within the area that still had any rooms when we were booking. The pictures on the website and comments on trip advisor had me a litte apprenhensive, and I wasn't expecting much from this location so was pleasantly surprised once we got there! We found the customer service to be outstanding! Smiles on their faces, super welcoming, and positive! Shout out to Kelly for going above and beyond to answer all our questions, advising us on places to go, and helping make sure we had a great time. Scott also was a big help when one of our friends got locked out of their room in the wee hours.
Our room was basic but clean, bed was comfy, hot water for a shower -- all the basics one needs. We weren't looking for or needing anything fancy. The bathrooms are small, but everything worked. This was a party weekend in the area with the big game, and we expected it to be noisy, so were surprised when all we heard were the occassional conversation of people walking in the hall and the showers of the rooms next to us in the morning. There was a continental breakfast offered - looked pretty standard, all we took time for was some orange juice though so can't comment on more than that.
Excellent location for going to Lambeau field. The shuttle bus picks you up right across the street from the parking lot and it's FREE! Leave your car at the hotel and not have to worry about the craziness of driving by the stadium. We ended up visiting the outdoor festivities at some of the bars close to Lambeau after the game and missed the last shuttle (they run until 5:30 for noon games), but were able to get a cab for a reasonable price ($10) to get back to our car and on the road for home.
We met people that paid $400-500 a night for a room, with many other places requiring a 2 night minimum. With a AAA discount, we paid nearly half of that AND Travelodge says they never have a minimum stay requirement --- only need one night? That's all you need to pay for.
In a nutshell, not fancy, great price, clean accommodations, outstanding customer service --- would definitely recommend the Travelodge for a Packer weekend.
Wow! Thank you! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, the Packer game including the free shuttle! I sincerely appreciate the time that you took to do such a detailed review. We hope you are able to come back and visit us again soon!
