This is a classic Wisconsin "supper club", having a bar area with a few tables and then another dining area, along with a handful of outdoor patio tables. The dining area and patio overlook a picturesque 2 or 3 acre trout pond, and they have an area of mowed grass with a few benches where you can enjoy the peace and quiet before or after supper. We've been here twice now, and the food has been very good to excellent every time. So far we haven't had a big enough appetite to try a full dinner, having stuck to burgers and sandwiches, but they've been great. This last time my prime and portabella sandwich was excellent if a little greasy, and my wife enjoyed her chicken Frisco. The included sides of potato skins were served with ranch dressing and were terrific. Full dinner prices seem a little higher than usual for the area, but the burgers and sandwiches are reasonable and a great value for what you get.
I do have a quibble with the service here at times. On our first visit, my wife ordered the chicken Frisco but was served one of the other chicken sandwiches from the menu. I'm sure this was just a communication issue but it shouldn't happen, and of course she didn't want to send it back and wait for the correct sandwich. Whatever they brought was actually very good, so in the long run it worked out OK. On this last visit, our server was quite good, but we observed a couple at the next table whose server was very slow. On both visits, we were told the names of the daily specials but no description or prices were offered unless we asked for them. Overall, we like the restaurant and will certainly return again.
