“Always a wonderful day or evening out”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Went to see "Scrooge: The Musical" on its last day, just before Christmas. Had heard it was very good and none of us were disappointed. The whole Fireside experience is just something special. This particular production was well done (as they ALWAYS are) - good voices all around, excellent acting, nice songs. With the theater-in-the-round, I was able to watch the reactions and expressions of some children sitting in the front row on the opposite side of the stage - that was also entertaining! (when this ghost or that ghost appeared or Scrooge did/said something they thought was funny...) It was a touching performance. AND, the meal beforehand was delicious as always. People come here by the busload from Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa... The atmosphere and decor of this place make every visit something out-of-the-ordinary.

“Wonderful Experience!”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

We recently saw "Scrooge: The Musical" and it was excellent. The acting was very professional and believable, the score original and the costuming stunning. We had back-row seats but because this theater was theater-in-the-round style, every seat is a good seat.

The food was tasty and our servers prompt. We had our 4-month-old with us and no one seemed bothered by him at all: the atmosphere was relaxed and cozy.

We attended with another couple and we all had a wonderful time!

“Best there is”

This experience and atmosphere was like no other, the play was amazing and the actors exceptional. The food was pretty good, hoping the main option was a little more diverse, but the alternates for more money were rather delicious.

“Scrooge, The Musical”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

In a word - Exceptional! This was our first time at Fireside and I must say, we were completely impressed. Wasn't sure I would like the stage in the center set-up, but I ended up loving it, maybe even preferring it to a typical arrangement. Performances, singing, props and costumes were all great. Dinner was good, apparently the menu changes with the production. I don't particularly think it's a good idea to only offer one entree option though. I found that strange. Fortunately, we like chicken and the quality of the meal was quite good. However, I think I will come for a matinee next time, served buffet-style, to ensure more choices. Service was perfect. Everything inside was beautifully decorated for the holiday. We enjoyed browsing the shops, lots of Christmas ornaments and such. I took a friend who was visiting from out of town and by the end of the evening, we had decided that this is something we'd like to do every time she's in town. So maybe a new tradition has been born. Definitely worth the price for a good meal and a wonderfully entertaining experience. Highly recommend!
