A fish boil is just as much an entertainment event as it is a dinner. Reservations strongly requested as the dinner activity begins behind the restaurant while you watch a fire-master-chef cook the onions, potatoes, whitefish and the boil-over with the blazing fire fueled by adding kerosene to the flame. There are other options besides the bony whitefish. Meals are served with cherry pie. While many places offer a fish boil, this is one of the best because of the location in trendy Fish Creek with its dozens of small shops and the lake just down the street.

If you want to experience a true fish boil come here! You have to make reservations as they do not accept walk-ins. Get there a bit early to get a nice seat by the window and to watch the boil as it is happening. You get a ton of food as well as delicious cherry pie for dessert. Can't wait to come here again!

Our family of 6 came for the fish boil on a Thursday evening. Of the 6, I am the only one with a fish allergy. However, there is a large variety of non-fish choices if you are not a fish-eater. The hostess was also very knowledgeable, cautioning that I should not have the baby red potatoes, or the sweet onions because they are made in the same basket and kettle with the fish. When I chose french fries, she said their fish are also fried in the same oil. I settled for applesauce and potato chips. Not the most creative of side dishes with my baked chicken, but good to know there are other options.

The person cooking the fish boil was friendly and knowledgeable, providing the history of the restaurant and able to ask all questions regarding the white fish and the fish boil. He explained that the fish boil originated in Door County, not in Norway which is often thought. The fish was very fresh, and it is cut by hand, not run through a bandsaw.

A bell is rung one minute before the boiling point so cameras can be ready. #1 kerosene is thrown on the fire, causing the fish oil to rise up in a large plume of fire before dying down quickly. Safety and caution are exercised at all times, as patrons were asked to take 15 steps back from the boiling pot, and those standing in the direction of the wind were asked to move farther away.

Very unique experience to have your food boiled and then served immediately. Wonderful family-owned business.

They have the best pancakes in Door County!!! Pelletier's is a hidden gem for breakfast. They are known for their fish boils but we go for their breakfasts. You can always get a table. The prices are very reasonable. The food is fantastic!!
