“Great location and price”
Reviewed June 28, 2012

Had a group of 4 gals and we went for a long weekend. This hotel was great and priced right. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and Peninsula State Park. One thing to know is if you are looking for a secluded quiet area to stay this hotel would not be for you. The room was great we had 2 Queens and a sofa sleeper with a large refrigator and wet bar area. There was also a deck overlooking the out door pool area. Would be great for families, girl's weekends and couples. I would definately stay again.

For a spontaneous trip to Door County for a long weekend in October with a 9 month old we weren't sure what we would need. We were extremely pleased with our decision to stay in lodgings that had suites, a continental breakfast, quick access to restaurants and close proximity to the park and bike rental shop. We had plans to bike the park and wander as much as our son allowed around the shops. It was great to be so close so we could run back for naps and regroup to plan our next outing. We loved the extra room to put the packnplay so we could play board games, eat, relax without tip toeing around each night at 7pm. While it's not a four star hotel it does not claim to be. Our only complaint was that for a rainy weekend in October we did not plan to bring summer pajamas - the heat was always on full blast. We asked the front desk and they recommended running the AC full blast as well as the thermostat does not adjust. While we felt bad running so much energy it was a plausible solution to make the room somewhat more comfortable. The breakfast, while simple, was clean, available, and just enough to have something to grab before our hikes and feed our son first thing when he was ready to eat. Overall a very pleasant stay and great location for a family with a napping little one!

Stayed here over a weekend and had a great experience. We stayed in a Hickory room and had more than enough room. 2 Full rooms, seperate bedroom that connected to the bathroom with large jacuzzi. Living room area had sink, fridge and microwave. This room could fit 4 comfortably. Also a nice suprise was a very large balcony. Breakfast was good, and indoor pool area was nice as well.

On the spur of the moment, my girlfriend and I decided to get away and head to Door County, WI for a long weekend getaway. We did not make reservations as it is very early in the season yet and we wanted to choose a place upon our own discovery. The first place we picked closed their office at 3pm and we got there at 330 pm. The 2nd place wanted over $240 a night for a room and even though they had many vacancies they stood solid on their prices. Did not want to spend $700 for 3 nights lodging, could buy a plane ticket to anywhere with that. The 3rd place was the charm and that was the Homestead Suites. I wanted a luxury suite and they did not have one available our first time but the staff was super friendly and put us in a nice room for our first night then moved us into their Hawthorne Suite the next night. All we had to do was pack our bags, the hotel staff moved our things into the Hawthorne while we spent the day exploring and horseback riding. The room was exceptional, very clean, had the jaquzzi and a double shower (which I have never had before) and a dual fireplace that was visable in the living room and the bedroom. The guest pool area was very clean and the hot tub and swimming pool were very well maintained and had perfect water temperatures. They only have a limited continental breakfast but other breakfast places are only a short distance away. I am really looking forward to returning here in the future.

We stayed in the Hickory suite and it was amazing. We loved the decor and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It is walking distance to everything in Fish Creek and a short drive to the rest of Door County. The bed linens were fresh and the room was very clean. The entire property is well kept!
After our wonderful continental breakfast we walked downtown Fish Creek and bought sandwiches to take on our bike ride through Peninsula State Park. The bike rental is right across the street! We had a great day biking and hiking through the park and enjoyed a very nice dinner at the Cookery. We even stopped in at Bayside and had drinks with some of the friendly locals! The next day the weather was not so good so we just stayed inside at the indoor pool until it cleared up. I would really like to come back in the winter because of all of the seasonal amenities. Also I think this would be a great place for families and large groups because of the variety in room types and local activities!

Stayed here over Door County's popular weekend, "Pumpkin Patch Festival." It was a girls weekend with a total of 5 girls. We had a room with 2 queen size beds and a pull out couch. It was perfect! The location was great: right at the entrance of Peninsula State Park, across the street from Gilbalters, and right next store to Julie's Cafe. It was also a very easy walk to downtown Fish Creek with lots of cute shops and restaurants. The hotel staff was really nice and friendly and it was nice having the hot tub after a long day and a balcony off our room. The free breakfast was fine, but we preferred going out for breakfast. If you are looking for a great location in Fish Creek, with a clean hotel, affordable price, and friendly staff, this is the place!!

Room Tip: If you plan on coming in the Fall in the beginning of October, you need to book early. Beginning of...

We had always wanted to stay here due the great location. We loved walking downtown or
for ice cream. Ain't Licked Yet has great pie and highlighted flavors of the day. We loved how clean everything was. It also helps to have an indoor and outdoor pool for rainy and cold days.
The free breakfast was great for us. We liked the yogurt, fresh fruit, and lots of other choices.
There was a free computer in the breakfast room. All-in-all we were very satisfied. The price
was a little high-due to the holiday. We will be back though.
