The kids can entertain themselves on the playground, and the custard is very good. It is expensive, though.

What's not to like?!? Loved that there were multiple seating choices...inside, chairs by the pond or along the driveway/restaurant, tables by the playground/creek, more tables up the hill a little ways, a nice playground for kids and a cute set of gnomes to get your picture taken. Our dog even got a mini ice cream cone treat for free! Her 1st ice cream & she LOVED it! There were so many wonderful choices - too hard to decide! Our favorite was the El Nino Sundae: chocolate custard, hot fudge, red raspberries, topped with whipped cream. Bet it'd be good with DC cherries also. Some might think it's pricey (5-7 for specialty items), but I think we got about the same amount as we would've gotten at a Cold Stone or self-serve yogurt place, plus we got the free doggie cone. We feel you are also paying for a great atmosphere, so worth it! Will definitely stop back if we find ourselves in DC again!

Fun place. Very easy to see why the place is so popular. Our kids loved the fantastic playground. They ad so much fun, they even forgot about the custard! The custard was good. We did not try the sundaes, but they looked fantastic. We will not make that mistake next time! We did try a "screaming banana" which is a great non-dairy option.

We waited in line for frozen custard, that is the summer in DC, plus it was only 65 degrees out. I bet the place is packed when it is hot. The custard sundaes were good, but very pricey. The average sundae, and they weren't huge was 5-7 dollars, and that adds up with a family. It was a vacation spot. There is a little kid playground and a lot of outdoor seating. The kids loved it.

Staff was very friendly and courteous. I spent $6 on a malt that lacked malt powder (I ordered a malt not a shake so make sure it has ample malt powder!) no whipped cream on the malt either. Spent almost $20 on the entire dessert for the three of us. Tasted ok but not amazing by any means.

The playground and ducks in the creek is what will keep us coming back. My daughter and niece loved it. Door Co is not always that kid friendly so this was a good chance to let them have some time to enjoy themselves. Played on the playground and fed ducks after ice cream. Good ending to ok frozen custard.
