“Fun place, but pricey custard and uninspired service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2011

I guess in a town full of pricey establishments that cater to tourists, it's not surprising that this custard stand on the edge of Peninsula State Park is overpriced. Not Licked Yet -- shouldn't it be Not Yet Licked?!? -- serves up delicious frozen custard ( a kind of richer, creamier, eggier sibling of ice cream) in a wonderful location with a family-fun playground surrounding it. The non-custard food at NLYFC is so-so at best, but the sundaes, malts and such are delicious. We've been stopping there for years. The problem is the sundaes have gotten so darn pricey. $6-8 for a sundae makes ice cream for a family of 4 daunting to the wallet. The other negative is is service. The custard servers have lost their friendly charm and become ho-hum, spacey, bored scoopers. I think going forward we'll pass on the crowded, over-priced custard served by customer-service impaired scoopers and find a friendlier, better value. There are LOTS of choices in Door County.

“Great family pit stop for dessert”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2011

Last weekend, we took our 1 year old nephew and 4 month old son to Not Yet Licked Custard. It was perfect. We spent an hour there feeding the ducks and exploring the playground. Popcorn bags $1 to feed ducks. It is in the shade! Plenty of andirondack chairs to sit in as well. MUST GO HERE IF YOU ARE IN DOOR COUNTY WITH KIDS of any age!

“Great Frozen Custard in quaint location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2011

Not Licked Yet is a great little ice cream and hot sandwich shop in the heart of Door County in the town of Fish Creek. We've been going there for years and make it a stop on every single trip.

The menu features burgers, fries and other grilled sandwiches made to order. While the food is good, the frozen custard is the best! They feature many different sundaes with terrific flavors. My personal favorite is the El Nino sundae. Chocolate frozen custard with raspberries and hot fudge. It comes with a mountain of whipped cream which I usually tell them to not put on. Otherwise simply perfect!

The setting is charming with a playground and adirondak chairs along a bubbling brook. It is delightful to sit along the stream enjoying a summer treat. Several years ago in the Spring we saw brook trout swimming upstream to spawn. The water is crystal clear.

There is ample parking and ample seating. I would highly recommend this stop during your visit to Door County.

“Great custard and burgers in a park-like setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2011

Not Licked Yet is adjacent to Peninsula State Park in a wooded outdoor area with a kid's play set and a meandering stream which opens into a small pond. Tables have been placed throughout, creating a feeling that you're eating in a park.

We like the ice cream and burgers, but we love the outdoor setting. Make sure to look for tables past the playground toward the pond which offer a great view.

Enjoy!
