If you like fine wines, don't bother stopping. If you are looking for a wide variety of fruit wines along with traditional varietals, this one is worth the stop, much more than the other large winery just ot the south. I agree with the other review that even their dry wines are pretty sweet, but they have good flavor, provided you are not looking for a tremendously dry wine. The dry cherry and cranberry wines both give a unique twist to fruit wines, as they are not candy-like or medicinal like many fruit wines tend to be.

They had mamy stations set up to sample Door County products like cherry juice, jams and salsas and even some decorative items. The wine tasting was free but their ratings of dry to sweet are off - it was all very sweet. I even like sweeter wines but most were too sweet for me.

So, stop by if you're looking for a snack (from the samples) or local food products, but there are better wineries.

This was a wonderful little place to stop. We liked it so much we ended up going a second time because we didn't have enough time to enjoy everything on our first visit. If you would like to take the tour, it is $3.00 per person, it is very interesting and you get a free "Orchard Country Winery & Market" wine glass. The wine tasting is free, you get to sample six of there wonderful wines and they give you about a finger and a half which makes for a couple of swallows or several sips. They supply bite sized biscuits and water to cleanse your pallet in between tastes.

Check the hours for the tours if you want to take it. When we were there earlier this month (Sept. 2010) we missed the last tour of the day by 10 minutes. So we went back the next day for the first tour. When we were there the times where 11am, 1pm & 3pm.

They have several displays that allow for tasting their products that include: juice, preserves, salsas, dressings, and more. They have a little bit of everything, including: cherry and apple products, pancake and soup mixes, bakery items, wine glasses, holders, and coolers, decorative items, gifts and gadgets galore, and of course, a large selection of their wines. This was just a fun place to browse and the staff were all very friendly and helpful!
