Peninsula Park offers many activities, hikes, scenic overlooks, and historical site, but we were there just one evening (after having hiked some of the other peninsula parks during the day). We started out at the light house and then drove a short distance away to a pull out where we were the only ones there along the shoreline. The view of the distant islands and the calm near-shore water was picture perfect. An added bonus for us was watching two horned grebes lazily diving near the shore. It was a spectacular sunset - and we have the photos to prove it.

My favorite part of this park is the location. Right in the heart of North Door County. Offering up so much to do, either in park or just outside its boundaries.

My second favorite thing about this park is that there are lovely scenic trails for all levels of hiking skill.

The campsites are nice and where we stayed, fairly private. We stayed at the back side of a loop, and there was nothing but forest behind us. We were able to walk straight back out of our site and pick up a trail.

The restrooms are nothing special, about what you'd expect in a state park campground. But there are so many other amenities in this park! Golf, look out tower, lighthouse, beach, snack stand, rental spaces for large groups if you are planning a family reunion. Whatever you are looking for in a state campground, you are likely to find it here!

And when you need a break from the campfire. In a 5-10 minute drive you are in one of the cutest towns in door county with tons of shopping and restaurants.

Even if we aren't camping, we visit this park every time we go to door county for a quick hike, or to take in the scenery. The view from top of Eagle Tower is lovely and totally worth the climb.

Unfortunately, we visited the park on a very rainy day, but it was still very beautiful. Along the drive throughout the park, there's lots of scenic lookouts for pretty views, and photo ops. We stopped by the light house as well, and enjoyed more views and interesting history. We'll definitely be back on a nicer day for some hiking!

Took a drive through the park and it was beautiful. We ended up spending more time than planned and wish we could have stayed longer. Stopped by the lighthouse which was closed for the season already. Climbed the viewing tower which was great. Hiked the eagle trail and it was great! A little hard at times but got to be close to the water and see very pretty views. Cheap way to spend the day.
