“beautiful bike trail”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

We took the approximately 9 mile bike trip through the park and found it to be very scenic and enjoyable. There are even two bike shops in Fish Creek right near the entrance to the park to rent bikes, child carriers, etc., so if you don't have your own bike, no problem! This is such a pretty State Park, like many others in Wisconsin. The trail winds through wooded areas, and for most of the ride we could see the bay. About halfway through our ride we were able to park our bikes in a rack and take a tour of the lighthouse, an extra bonus while riding. There is also a lookout tower in another area of the park that we have climbed in the past, that provides great views of Door County and beyond.

“Wonderful Park in WI - so much to do”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

We really enjoyed our camping at Peninsula state park. So much to do. The light house, the tower to climb - GREAT BIKE TRAIL. Fall colors great. The town of Fish Creek is so cute ... we went to a fish boil there. Because it was fall we did not swim, but there is a nice beach.
I want to come back in the summer to see the American Folklore Theater.
The only reason I did not give this a rating of 5 is because the showers have not been updated at this park, and the campgounds are older. But still very nice. If you want to come especially on a weekend in the summer ... you will need to reserve a site well in advance (maybe a whole year if you have a particular weekend in mind.) Great Park ... there is a reason it is so popular

“Fall Special - Great Views / Hiking”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Oct 10, 2013 Peninsula State Park in Door County WI, between Fish Creek and Ephraim is my third favorite park to hike and enjoy on the peninsula (behind Cave Point County Park and Newport SP). If you only have a few hours, I recommend entering at the golf course on the Epharaim/ Eagle Harbor side and experiencing these three locations: 1) Eagle Tower: climb to the top of this 76ft tower and enjoy beautiful views of Eagle Harbor and Horseshoe Island; 2) Eagle Trail: hike thru the woods and to the bottom of the bluff and walk along the rocky bay shore. I prefer to drive 1/4 mile west of the tower to the Eagle Panorama parking lot and take the trail down to the shore from there. There is a slighly steep decent on a small section of this path, but honestly, the only hard part is coming back up and not stumbling on tree roots and rocks--take your time. You can also catch the trail at the tower; 3) Eagle Bluff Light House: an attractive 3 mile drive father west from Eagle Tower/Trail. Tour the lighthouse and enjoy the views. A day pass into the park is $7 if you don't have an annual state park pass. I think the lighthouse has a $5 admission, but the grounds are free.

“Great Hiking”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

Overall the entire state park offers much see and do. Hiking, biking and drive around the lakeshore. Daily use fee. Within walking distance of many local hotels. Trails vary in degree of difficulty for hiking and biking.

“a very nice park”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

The park rangers were quite helpful at the visitor center. They recommended some short scenic walks.

The park was quite scenic. there are quite a few trails in and around the park.

There is a lighthouse there and we got lucky and hooked up with a guided tour of the lighthouse. the guide was very informative.

there is a pleasant drive around the periphery of the park. worth taking a slow drive around especially in October.

There were hundreds of people on bikes in the park. very bike friendly.

definitely worth the $10 entry fee.
