“Could go every summer.”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

It's large so there is a lot to explore, and it's beautiful. You can't get enough. We spent hours on the sandy, shallow beach. You can rent canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and sailboats. There are tours of Eagle Bluff Lighthouse and lots of places to fish from shore. They also have a great visitor center and gift shop. It's a short drive to anywhere else you want to visit.

“Winter at the park”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

Beautiful drive through the park in the winter - only main road open. 5$ daily fee in winter although on the honor system and not quite sure why there is a charge.

I've been there in the summer - bike trails are great!

“On Our 11th Year Camping”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

2013 will be out 11th year camping here and hands down this beats every state and private campground we have stayed at. We even go up in the winter to cross country ski and stay in one of the local hotels. There is something for everyone here. You have bicycle and hiking trails for all skill levels. The park is clean and quiet yet close to good restaurants and boutiques. Kayaking is wonderful; you can easily launch your own or rent them. Sitting at the boat landing and watching people put in or take out their boats can sometimes beat a comedy show. Only two things need to be improved upon. When biking along the roads the speed limit is usually disregarded by drivers so things can get a little dicey at times. It would be nice if there was a stronger ranger presence to slow down drivers.Campground reservations need to be made a year in advance.

“Average experience”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Great scenery that includes beaches, trails, and lookout towers. Recommend getting a reservation early in the summer, as the campsites fill up quickly in summer and fall. Worth a camping trip but the quiet time is strictly enforced after 11pm. If you are loud campers the ranger stops at your campground to make sure that you're quiet.
