“Rent bikes & explore the park”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

We rented bikes just outisde the park. The bike place told us it was an 'easy' 9.7 mile ride. Parts were easy, but there were plenty of parts that weren't so easy...like pedaling up all those big hills! If you rent a tandem bike make sure both riders are equally fit otherwise it's going to be awfully hard to get both of you & the bike up those hills. We saw many people walking bikes up hills. There are plenty of things to do & see along the bike path. Stop at the beach (about half-way through the journey) and it as well as the playground & concession stand. Would definitley do again! Families with younger children should be aware that there may be lots of walking bikes instead of riding them!

“The best spot in Door County”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

A trip to Door County isn't complete without a stop at Peninsula State Park. It has everything -- a swimming beach, several different terrains from woodland to marsh, many well-tended hiking trails, beautiful views, a ranger station, a lighthouse to tour, a live theater, a golf course, cross-country ski trails in the winter, birdwatching sites, bikes for rent and wonderful bike trails, and more. The campsites, should you wish to stay there, range from full service to primitive and most are good-sized. The park is huge, so you needn't be shoulder-to-shoulder with others while in the park. I have always been able to find a getaway where I could enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. Just a wonderful experience, any time of year.

“Gorgeous views of a beautiful bay”
Reviewed July 20, 2011

We took a morning to travel through the park. It was impressive that despite all the comings and goings in the park, there is still space to enjoy the views. Make sure to visit the Eagle's Bluff Lighthouse and take the time for the tour. It is tremendously informative, and gives a wonderful perspective on life in the region going back a century and a half.

Was taken thru the park on the trolley as part of the lighthouse tour so we didnt spend alot of time in the park but the scenery we saw throughout the park was amazing, lighthouse was amazing and the sheer in touch with God and nature was amazing!
