Fenway House Hotel
Ranked #1 of 1 Fennimore B&B and Inns
Reviewed October 21, 2013

We were very impressed with our first visit to the Fenway hotel. The hotel has a real charm to it,
and the staff really has embraced the historical background of its beginning. We felt like we were
in a small European town, the rooms were very comfortable and the feel of the lobby, bar and restaurant was very comfortable. We met the new chef Saturday night, he prepared several appetizers and my wife and I both had steaks and great old fashions. Fennimore is very lucky to have such a nice place to stay, relax and have dinner. We both are looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: Our room was #107 very comfortable and quiet. You have to stay and have dinner with Chef Michael an...

Had a brief, but terrible stay at the Fenway House this year. First of all, the hotel is quaint and old fashioned (and I mean old). I'm in my mid 20s, and would rather have a more modern environment. If you have an appreciation for the old and modest, perhaps you won't be as critical and I. The Silent Woman restaurant is attached to the hotel, and is a good place to eat. The hotel lobby is dark, dated, and gloomy. The front desk shuts down when everyone has checked in (which can be early). If you need to reach a hotel worker, you need to use your cell phone to call the owner (unreliable), as there are no service phones in the rooms. I changed rooms multiple times because the AC would not work properly in any of the rooms I was switched to (this was during 90 degree heat). One night at around 2am, the AC (which was running on fan since the cold air didn't work) made a weird clanking noise and completely gave out. The room got hot quickly, and I woke up soaked in sweat. The next room I changed to had a bad AC too. Wi-fi is completely unreliable, and is not available in rooms away from the lobby. The rooms are very outdated (though some would call it charming). TVs are old and signal is fuzzy. Beds were ok. The hallways are creaky and walls are thin. As stated, hotel staff is friendly, but unreliable - there is no one attending the hotel at late hours. The whole place personally made me and my traveling partner feel uncomfortable. There is a better lodging option in Boscobel that blows this hotel out of the water. Stay away!

It is hard to review this unique lodging separate from The Silent Woman restaurant which is adjacent and attached.
Recently, there have been many negative postings about the former manager of the eatery, which for many years had a well deserved, highly rated reputation. This has been a famous place in SW Wisconsin!
We recently stayed in the hotel which, along with the restaurant, is under new management. The Silent Woman was not yet re-opened, but we still could not have been more welcomed or more professionally served than we were by Michael, Candy and extended family!
This is a unique place, full of history. Though a bit dated in decor, it is extremely clean, thanks to Char! We have no doubt that in time, the new owners will bring updates and much better service than the former manager.
We LOVED that that are no phones in rooms, no room service, etc. It is like stepping back in time to a place that was simpler..more oriented towards people connecting and visiting.
We would recommend this lovely hotel to anyone who is looking for a unique and memorable experience.
We were honored that the owners shared with us their new menu to be introduced in the next week. It looked fabulous! We wish Michael and Candy all the best and certainly will be back to stay again when we can partake of the new offerings at The Silent Woman.

Room Tip: There is one two room suite in which the sofa and love seat are not comfortable..perhaps to be repla...

Recently stayed here for a family reunion in Livingston. Very nice place. Rooms comfy and clean. Beds very comfortable. Also very affordable. A great option for families. Check out the Cheese factory down the road and the railroad museum. We very much enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Room Tip: If it's in the summer, check out the AC options. I believe there were some rooms that did not h...

We love staying in old renovated hotels and this was no exception. The room was comfortable and both windows easily opened. There were chocolates on both beds.

The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean.

A downside was that noone was ever at the frontdesk. There was no bell and we had to go find them at bar which is internally connected to the hotel.

It's not really a B&B since breakfast is not included.

You have to be on the lookout for the Fenway even though it's on the main street and Fennimore isn't very big.

Stayed valentines weekend. Room was very nice. Clean and quiet. Bed was comfy. Would recommend Friday night fish at the Silent Woman. The bar is very gorgeous too.
We loved our stay here. Ask where the best shopping is. We hit the wineries, popcorn factory, and a ton of quaint shops within 1 1/2 hr drive. Not a lot going on in Fenimore itself, but driving around the countryside was beautiful.

Fennimore is a very small town with friendly people. The Fenway House Hotel and The Silent Woman
Restaurant & Lounge have character. Unfortunately, the rooms need updating. We stayed in room 101,
the suite. The room was clean but needed repairs--cracked tiles in the bathroom, broken hook on the
back of the bathroom door and the carpeting needs replacing. It does have a mini refrigerator with a
bar containing two glasses and two wine glasses---no silverware, so bring your own. It was nice having
the Jacuzzi tub with the stained glass window. The restaurant is very unique and had good service. For
things to do, we went to the antique stores in Cuba City. One more thing, their website stated they have a
Sunday Buffet. They no longer offer breakfast. Timothy's Cafe is in walking distance from the hotel.
