Extremely clean, I like that! Very friendly, Sue & Steve were the best hosts possible. Very willing to be of help. Excellent breakfast, I can't imagine any B&B doing a better breakfast. Looking forward to a return trip!
This B&B couldn't be any better! Located on a quiet location 1/2 block from the bay, it offers well manicured grounds with mature trees and multiple locations to sit and relax. We had a king suite which had a gas fireplace, 2 person Jaccuzzi, kitchenette, comfy sofa and wing chair in one room and a king sized bed and dresser in the other room. The bath was standard, but offered lots of fluffy towels and 2 robes, specialty toiletries and a seemingly endless supply of hot water and good water pressure. The kitchenette was stocked with a coffeemaker, microwave, dishes, glasses, cutlery, wine glasses, corkscrew, coffee packets/filters and table and chairs. There was an assortment of current visitor information. The bed was very, very comfortable and there were lots of pillows to choose from. Outside there was a table and two chairs with a view of mature trees, playful squirrels and songbirds. Very enjoyable place to sip morning coffee. In the lodge meeting room Sue and Steve greeted guests and offered delicious breakfast options, which changed everyday and included hot/cold cereal, fruit, eggs, bagels/breads and coffeecakes. Sue is a wonderful cook; you will enjoy her breakfasts. 3:00 is cookie and juice time and the homemade goodies are very tempting. Sue and Steve have the gifts of hospitality and friendship. They sincerely enjoy making their guests feel special.
We stayed at the Village Green Lodge for an anniversary trip recently. While the property itself looks much more spacious online, it was still well maintained. The owners could not be nicer. Our room was standard - nothing exceptional (I hate to say I was even a little disappointed upon entering), but for the price, it was clean and that was all we needed. One thing not advertised about Door County is that Ephraim is a dry town. No big deal, but when we went looking for place to walk and have a drink, there wasn't one - you have to drive to one of the nearby towns. We'll probably try a new place next time we go to Door County, but overall our stay was nice.
Outstanding inn, innkeepers, location, breakfasts. I would highly recommend. Keep reading the wonderful reviews as it has all been said. I can't wait to go back.
WOW! This is not a motel, contrary to the 17 rooms. This property is the real bed and breakfast deal. I was warmly greeted by Sue and Steve at check-in with the most delicious homemade cookies. Sue personally took us to our room and helped us with our bags, then gave us great recommendations for dining and entertainment. I have never experienced such hospitality in my life! The room was filled with pleasant surprises, like a flat-screen TV with 100 channels and wi-fi.
Before you head somewhere for breakfast, you should know this is not the Holiday Inn Express. The complimentary breakfast here is superb, so much that Sue even has a cookbook. Don't waste your time or money at a restaurant, Village Green has the best homemade breakfast in town.
