What's better than home-made root beer, Chicago hot dogs and wonderful ice cream? Wilson's was still open for a late meal on our first evening in Door County. Tired from a long drive, we were able to sit on the patio, enjoy some casual food and friendly servers. Their Chicago hot dogs are very good -- just missed the long pickle spear that usually sits on top of good Chicago dog. But it was close enough for me! My husband had the fish sandwich which was crispy and delicious. The root beer was served in a frosty mug and I wished I had order the float, because this creamy stuff begged for it.
The atmosphere is old fashioned ice cream parlor and takes you away from the chain restaurants back to the family run places that we miss. This is truly a great step toward relaxing vacations.
We visited here twice again for ice cream and even sat on the porch during a heavy rain storm. Classic.
