We eat here every trip to Door County which is almost yearly. We always go for the fish boil ,the breakfast is good also. The fish boil is fun to watch and tastes great, even my Mom and teenage daughter liked the fish when they were at first afraid to try it. For those who just don't want fish they also serve chicken and ribs. The fish and other meats are served with boiled potaotes, onions, coleslaw, homebaked quick breads and cherry pie. For an extra charge you can get a scoop of ice cream with the pie-this scoop is large enough to share with two. If you reserve your meal early enough you may get a table in front of the picture windows so you can see the harbor and beginning of the sunset, Sit on the porch or cross the street after supper to watch the sunset completely. Perfect end to a perfect day.

The Old Post Office Restaurant is spotlessly clean and serves up great food. We enjoyed a fish boil here and were impressed enough to return for breakfast not once, but three more times. The breakfasts are outstanding. Following the advice of a veteran waitress, we tried their hash browns and their pancakes - both were excellent. My mother commented that their bran muffins are the best she has ever had. Service is attentive and efficient.

We had dinner our first night in Ephraim at the Old Post office and had the whitefish boil where all the diners sit outside in a circle around a large caldron where the "boilmaster" dumps in potatos, onions and fish, all the while telling you about the Icelandic tradition of the fish boil.
The fish was pretty fishy and somewhat bony, which is natural for whitefish, although the waiter helped us remove most of the bones, but the experience was unique and the meal overall was satisfying.
