If you like lake perch, head up to the Second Story Restaurant. You'll think you've stepped back into time a bit (60's restaurant decor complete with salad bar that includes jello and cottage cheese). When I go to Door County, this is the one restaurant I always go to. They have a pretty big menu but I don't even bother looking at it because I always order the lake perch dinner. Super-fresh fish, lightly breaded and fried--just fantastic. Everyone in my family gets the perch, too, so I can't really comment on anything else. Service is very fast and the views of Green Bay are really beautiful.

We stayed at the Ephraim Shores and ate several meals at the restaurant upstairs. The first night my husband asked to reserve a table with a view as we were celebrating our anniversary; we were told that they don't take reservations for less than 6 [per owners guidelines] but if we came at 5:30 we would have 'no problem' arrived to find that we couldn't sit up there and were shown a table back right in front of the beverage area where the waitresses had to slip by our chairs to get the beverages or condiments. Imagine trying to hold a conversation with people dipping ice :( We were fortunate that another couple we'd met on the beach who had a table by a window offered to share their table for 4. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. We had other good meals there. Prices were rather high. $8.00 for a crock of soup!!! Food was good and plentiful.

Went for the perch dinner and we were not disappointed. Small restaurant, nice background music, pleasant staff, very quaint and fitting of door county. Prices were reasonable and perch was wonderful. View of the Green Bay was relaxing as well.

We didn't stay in the motel, but were referred to this restaurant. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the bay and as it name indicates, it is on the second floor. The food was good, although not outstanding. The restaurant was pleasant with excellent service.
