“Small Town Luxury”
Reviewed April 23, 2010

The Eagle Harbor Inn is a special place indeed! Ephraim is quintessential small town America, and the feeling of comfort extends well into the Eagle Harbor Inn.

The resort consists of several buildings. Within each building are four or more individual suites. Within each suite is a lovely living room with fireplace and hot tub, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. The "Inn" itself is centrally located on the property and boasts a nice breakfast room and fireplace, along with bed and breakfast type accommodations. Across from the Inn is a building known as the "Commons" which features a decent work out facility, heated pool and sauna, as well as meeting facilities.

The Eagle Harbor Inn is an exceptional place for couples seeking a quiet get away as well as friends looking for a gathering place for the weekend. The innkeepers are genuinely kind and helpful in suggesting restaurants and things to do.

If you seek luxury accommodations in a classic style with an excellent location, across the street from the bay, Eagle Harbor is it!

We booked a one bedroom suite and upon check in, they told us they bumped us up to a two bedroom suite. We didn't need the additional room, but it was nice all the same. My husband isn't really into B&B's so this was perfect for us since I wanted something nicer and more romantic than a standard hotel room. The suite had a two way fireplace so that you can see it in the living room and bedroom...very cool! It had a small kitchenette, table and chairs, etc. The bed was very nice with nice bedding. We loved the whirlpool tub as well! The bathroom was spacious which is always nice! We really enjoyed our time there!

This is a lovely place, well situated in one of the most beautiful towns in Door County. Our two young boys (8 and 11) had a great time in the loft (we stayed in Cedar 5), swimming in the pool, exploring the grounds and playing in the jacuzzi. The staff provided friendly and good guidance each time we asked for it. While we hoped not to need it, wi-fi internet service was solid (although cell phone coverage in Ephraim was non-existent). Having explored most of this wonderful peninsula, we hope to visit Door County again and would head straight back to Ephraim and Eagle Harbor Inn in a heartbeat.

We were very fortunate to land a beautiful suite at a great price at the Eagle Harbor Inn as walk-ins! We had initially made reservations elsewhere, which proved to be a big mistake. After one bad night we found our way to the Eagle Harbor Inn, which proved to be all that we were looking for. The customer service was outstanding and the accomodations were roomy, clean and comfortable. We highly recommend staying here for a memorable and peaceful getaway.

Everything was clean and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful (thanks for the late dinner tip for English Inn - fantastic Beef Wellington, and fish boil at Old Post Office), and it was a nice, relaxing place for breakfast (stuffed french toast - I hope they have that again next time we're there). Really nothing to complain about, lots of nice stuff to see in the area, just a short drive in any direction. Eagle Harbor has a nice location. Had a great time and will be back again.

We spent two nights and arrived without reservations. The person who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. As this was in the off-season, we had our choice of most of the rooms in the inn. There are several rooms in the main house which are the traditional Bed and Breakfast, including light continental breakfast in the morning. There are also suites in newer building on the property which do not include the breakfast. We chose the main house and were generally pleased
The bed squeaked, but it was a true antique. The staff attempted to correct it the next day, but with little success. The breakfasts were tasty, but modest, although they did include a home baked muffin or pastry each day.
There was a swimming pool and exercise room included on the property which is not typical of most B&B's that we have stayed in, and it was wonderful.
All in all, this property would be perfect for a larger group, family reunion, group retreat, etc. We decided that if we were to stay again, we would take a suite (which includes a kitchen), and skip the breakfast.

My husband and I just spent a lovely 3 nights at the Eagle Harbor Inn in Ephraim, Door County, Wisc. We stayed in the Bed and Breakfast Inn in the room called "Hilda" and we loved it. At first we thought the room might be too small to stay in for 4 days, but as soon as we were "moved in" it felt so warm and cozy that I would definitely stay in that room again. The breakfasts are fabulous and served in their dining room with many windows looking out to the patio where you could eat in warmer weather. In the evening we sat by the fireplace and read our books. The location was perfect - we walked into town easily. Ephraim is a nice little town right on Eagle Harbor with wonderful views and sunsets. Although we did not eat there, we were allowed to watch the fish boil at the Old Post Office Restaurant and it looked great. Another popular spot was the "Second Story" restaurant overlooking the harbor. We had a great Friday fish fry dinner at the English Inn. Our day at the Penninsula State Park was a highlight of the trip. We toured the lighthouse and took a hike on one of the trails. Next time we will rent bikes there. Can't wait to return!
