Get a view from on high. Water for nearly as far as you can see. A great place to bring a lunch or do a cook-out in nature.

Here is one of the top five views in Door Country. This is a small park with a large woodland. Other than walking in the woods, the main thing here is a short drive into the park, and a series of steps and seating areas offering great views of Green Bay from the top of the Bluff. You are over 200 feet up and when you are on the walkway looking down, you are looking STRAIGHT down - cool stuff for the family and a great photo spot.

There is plenty of space for a picnic, although not many tables.

From Ephraim or Sister Bay, you can see this park in less than an hour. It is also a great place to bring the kids if Mom is doing a bot of shopping! You can easily spend an hour taking in the views and taking a few walks on the trails.

Before going to Door County I read reviews and information about this park and I was expecting a beautiful expansive view with a few lookouts. Unfortunately, this is not what we experienced.

The turn off from Hwy 42 is about halfway between Sister Bay and Ellison Bay. Signs were easy to follow. The dirt road up to the viewing area had lots of trees. Arriving at the lookout there is parking, but it is not marked very well, it seems you just park where you want. There are some picnic tables and lots of shade. The view itself is pretty high up, but there are a lot of trees so it is not very expansive. We looked to see if there were any marked trails, but didn't really see any. There was one that looked like it followed the cliff, but I don't think it is an "official" trail. At least the park was free.

If you are just out for a drive in Door County or on your way to Washington Island, it might be worth a quick stop. Maybe for a quick lunch? Fall would also be pretty as well. If you're going just for the view, the outlooks at Peninsula state park were better IMO.

We found this gem of a county park just driving along the highway (there is a sign at Porcupine Rd.), south of Ellison Bay, about 2 miles. Located in the middle of Door County, on Green Bay. It is a dirt road that takes you to the park, and there is a tunnel of trees along this road, so I bet the autumn color show would be awesome to behold! There are hiking trails here and a small picnic area. It was exceptionally clean, the tables in excellent condition, garbage cans (!), benches, rocks, tall, beautiful shade trees, and what a view of Green Bay. There is a small set of stairs to use to get better views, and a bench to contemplate that view. It was very quiet there, and only had 3 other people the entire time we spent here. The grass is well kept-cut, weed free, green and full. Parking was easy, but it is a small lot. Bathrooms. Great place for a picnic, walk, or to sit and read a bit. This was our favorite park in the whole of Door County.
