The Chalet has been around for years, closed for awhile during the bad economy, and is now open again with an amazing new chef. My husband and I have been back there four times in the last six months and every meal has been fantastic. It's a small, rustic place, out in the middle of Wisconsin rural farmland. The decor is small town, cozy, well worn. The food is amazing and the presentation is right off the cover of Bon Apetit! My husband had the steak and prawns, I had roast duck, both specials for the night. From the salad, served with housemade dressings (try the Balsalmic reduction), fresh warm bread, to the amazing sides of vegetables, three cheese mashed potatoes, everything was perfect. The cherry sauce served with the duck was just the right tartness, not overly sweet. They are not open every night. I'd love to know where else to find this chef.
