Egg Harbor Campground
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We tent camped here on site 520 during 4th of July weekend for 4 nights. We would stay on 520, 519, 604 next time. We did not get a good look at 601, 602, 603, but those might be nice, too. The fresh water was just across the way from our site. The campground location was excellent because Fish Creek is a 5 minute drive North and Egg Harbor is a 3 minute drive South.

We had zero stress when it came time to drive into Egg Harbor for the fireworks and parade... same with the fireworks in Fish Creek. For the Egg Harbor parade, we parked at the Hardware store and sat in chairs alongside the road. This was the beginning of the parade - which meant our kids got lots of candy & we got Renard's string cheese & cheese curds samples (without them running out).

I really liked the convenience of grocery shopping at Main Street Market in Egg Harbor! They have a great bakery with warm cinnamon rolls & sandwich rolls, a great deli, and fresh produce/meats. There is brewed coffee to go, too. Even though I'm fully capable of carrying my 1 bag of groceries to the car - a very nice, young man automatically carried them out for me... I guess they're known for that :)

The campground is heavily wooded and the sites are excellent. The tent sites are large and private. Even though our site was wooded, it was adjacent to the golf course. We could hear golfers swinging a shot here and there early in the morning. It's very relaxing and quiet. The RV sites are moderately large and are closer together. Every site was occupied during our stay, however, it was quiet and a great environment to be in. Our kids rode their bikes around the campground, without any concerns. They were unable to ride their scooters at all, though, because all the roads were gravel. The bathrooms are clean, with adjustable temperature showers which stay on the whole time (just like at home). The playground up front (by the road) is older but has really high flying swings. The playground hidden behind the camp store is more modern with a fun tire swing and 3 slides. If your children are young, campsites adjacent to the playground are the way to go. The camp store has basic supplies, including ice & firewood. The pool is not that great, but we didn't spend anytime there. We preferred the public beach at Fish Creek and/or the Nicolet beach at PSP (Peninsula State Park). btw, we have camped at PSP before, which is also a beautiful setting. The disadvantage to camping at PSP is that it's quite a long drive into the state park when you want to go shopping or to the fireworks in-town AND you need to reserve several months in advance... but, it's still a good choice, also. On future visits, we will choose Egg Harbor Campground again because of it's location, beautiful setting, clean bathroom facilities, and friendly staff in the office. Let me know if you have any questions.

We felt so lucky to happen upon this "gem in the woods" campground..
We were booked into another place further down the road and weren't
happy there and started scrambling for a place for the night.. From the
first contact with the resort owners, it was ment to be.. They are hands
on and customer comes first kind of people.. We stopped for a night
and ended up spending our entire Door County trip there.. They are
very centrally located.. Ask for the discount ticket for Gallilaeos another
hidden treat in Egg Harbor.. The resort is very clean, quiet and clean
laundry!!

We found this hideaway several years ago and go RV'ing there several times a year. The owners and staff are very friendly, washrooms are very clean, the pool is clean and kept up. They deliver firewood to your site and do regular driveby's to see if anyone needs anything. We have a dog and there is a great walking path for pets.
We peeked into the new cabins and they are great. We always stay in the older area with our travel trailer, as it has lots of mature trees and shade. The new area in the back for large pull throughs is not shaded as much.
Highly recommended, and a great centrally located campground to stay at and tour all of Door County.

This campground is perfectly located if you want to explore Door County. The facilities and grounds are exceptionally well tended, the staff is over-accommodating, and the camping facilities are top notch, perfect if you want that scenic "wooded" experience, even for big rigs like ours.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during Egg Harbor's Pumpkin Festival, and we plan to return again during the summer months.

We planned to spend two nights in a tent site. The staff was exceptionally helpful - they explained all the policies and services (quiet hours, pool, tv room, game room, wifi, water points, laundry, restrooms, showers, playground, trash area, firewood sales), escorted us to our site and checked back to be certain all was well. I purchased several firewood bundles which they delivered to our site for us, and when I mentioned I had forgotten a bag for trash, they provided one.

On the afternoon of the second day, the staff came around to tell everyone that rain was coming. I checked the radar and decided to pack up and leave before the rain arrived, since I didn't want to pack a wet tent in the morning. They seemed genuinely sad to see us cut our visit short because of the weather, and offered to refund my money for my unused firewood.

The entire area was fully wooded and shady, and very well maintained. There were lots of families with kids riding bikes, and lots of seniors in RVs, many of whom seemed to be regulars. VERY friendly bunch. The bathrooms / showers were clean, and the rental cabins looked wonderful from the outside. They had a small camp store that stocked essentials. We did not use most of the amenities in the short time we were there, but I definitely will go back.

My only complaint was the firepit. It was a ring of stones, and had no grill, which made cooking somewhat precarious and difficult. If you plan to cook on a fire, you should bring a tripod or some other means to balance a pot.

Slightly above average experience here. Decently clean bathroom/showers. Decent lot size and spacing, but all dirt and no grass. We stayed for 3 nights and park was never rowdy, and silent by 11pm. Has a nice pool, laundry, and game room. Location is unbeatable if you plan to explore the Door.
