We tent camped here on site 520 during 4th of July weekend for 4 nights. We would stay on 520, 519, 604 next time. We did not get a good look at 601, 602, 603, but those might be nice, too. The fresh water was just across the way from our site. The campground location was excellent because Fish Creek is a 5 minute drive North and Egg Harbor is a 3 minute drive South.
We had zero stress when it came time to drive into Egg Harbor for the fireworks and parade... same with the fireworks in Fish Creek. For the Egg Harbor parade, we parked at the Hardware store and sat in chairs alongside the road. This was the beginning of the parade - which meant our kids got lots of candy & we got Renard's string cheese & cheese curds samples (without them running out).
I really liked the convenience of grocery shopping at Main Street Market in Egg Harbor! They have a great bakery with warm cinnamon rolls & sandwich rolls, a great deli, and fresh produce/meats. There is brewed coffee to go, too. Even though I'm fully capable of carrying my 1 bag of groceries to the car - a very nice, young man automatically carried them out for me... I guess they're known for that :)
The campground is heavily wooded and the sites are excellent. The tent sites are large and private. Even though our site was wooded, it was adjacent to the golf course. We could hear golfers swinging a shot here and there early in the morning. It's very relaxing and quiet. The RV sites are moderately large and are closer together. Every site was occupied during our stay, however, it was quiet and a great environment to be in. Our kids rode their bikes around the campground, without any concerns. They were unable to ride their scooters at all, though, because all the roads were gravel. The bathrooms are clean, with adjustable temperature showers which stay on the whole time (just like at home). The playground up front (by the road) is older but has really high flying swings. The playground hidden behind the camp store is more modern with a fun tire swing and 3 slides. If your children are young, campsites adjacent to the playground are the way to go. The camp store has basic supplies, including ice & firewood. The pool is not that great, but we didn't spend anytime there. We preferred the public beach at Fish Creek and/or the Nicolet beach at PSP (Peninsula State Park). btw, we have camped at PSP before, which is also a beautiful setting. The disadvantage to camping at PSP is that it's quite a long drive into the state park when you want to go shopping or to the fireworks in-town AND you need to reserve several months in advance... but, it's still a good choice, also. On future visits, we will choose Egg Harbor Campground again because of it's location, beautiful setting, clean bathroom facilities, and friendly staff in the office. Let me know if you have any questions.
