Not impressed.
1st time the tempura was really greasy
2nd visit, upon opening the door a greasy smell permeated the air
Had a coconut curry shrimp dish
Basicallly a few shrimp, and onions and bell peppers in an overly sweet gooey sauce.
It was supposed to be "spicey" Thats a laugh. I didnt taste any spice in it at all.

We had a reservation for dinner with 10 of our friends. Table was reserved and set. Service was prompt and friendly. All 12 in our party had positive things to say about their meals. Ambience was slightly less than we had hoped as on the weekends they have a live jazz band that makes conversation next to impossible. If you are looking for quiet, book during the week.

Whether you're going out on a date, or celebrating with friends, Shanghai Bistro is an excellent choice. They have an excellent selection of sushi at appropriate prices. One of the times i went with a date she ordered the sesame chicken which she loved and i ordered the orange chicken which was some of the best ive had. this plus drinks came to just over $20! that's hard to beat with the very romantic feel this restaurant has.

Another time i went with one of my buddies to celebrate. we started of with their egg drop soup and edamame and both of which were good. next we got a "Nami" sushi platter to split and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sushi. and for $20 dollars you get quite a bit of it. Needless to say it was a successful night. will return many more times.

Food is consistently bad. Simple chineses dishes are dry, rubbery, and not exactly inexpensive. Have eaten here several times thinking it would improve.

The Chinese menu is almost average, the sushi pretty good for this far inland. The music is a bit overwhelming; a nice venue for local music students, but too loud for conversation. A mixed bag.
