“A real treat...but peak times may require a long wait outside”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

Soda Pop's is a real treat, even for locals. My nephews loooove the hundreds of kinds of soda in glass bottles to choose from. The waitstaff is young and upbeat and welcoming. They play 50's music, and you can happily enjoy a rootbeer float or banana split, vintage style. The food is pretty good...a little bit above average for around here. I recommend the onion rings, which come jauntily presented. They also have several healty options if you've had enough of burgers and fries. The overall gimmick is that they have an extensive "condiments buffet"; your food comes plain, and you can go back and load it up with all the vegetables or sauces you can imagine. That's kind of fun! However, there's not a lot of room in there, and, when it's busy, I think getting around is tricky for older folks and little ones. The restaurant doesn't have all that much seating, so summertime means long waits outside, but most tourists stroll up and down the cute downtown area while waiting.

“Kids loved it.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

My kids think this is the best place. We don't drink a lot of soda at home so the full page of uncommon soda choices from around the country make this a destination for my family. They love the condiment bar. Overall, the food is average. The sandwich bread/buns are delicious and turn an ordinary sandwich into something very yummy.

The combination of all the factors make this a place to return to.

“A step back in time”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

Loved the old soda fountain idea. Thought the food was average at best. Burger was lukewarm and by the time I took it back to the condiment bar and stood in line for pickles and ketchup, it was really cold.

“Great, Fun Step back in time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

Soda Pops is a really fun place for lunch with the 50's atmosphere and 100s of soda pops to choose from. The menu is good and we really liked the food. I'd recommend it for people of any age. It is very crowded at lunch, but they will call you on your cell phone when your table is ready, so you can look in the shops nearby. They also have ice cream in their retail store around the corner from the main restaurant. They serve very large scoops of ice cream for about 1/3 what we pay in Chicago :)
