Besides the no plates etc, if you do take out you pay 80 cents for the box and one or two
Dollars depending on the credit card you use. Place has ripped carpet. Appeared to be no locals eating.
Pizza was 2 on a scale of. 1-10 with 10 the best.

“Good thin crust pizza”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

The pizza was good, nice crispy thin crust and there were arcade games while waiting. I thought the atmosphere and extras were lacking, though. Paper cups for drinks, no plates or silverware. You ate your pizza by hand off of a napkin. We observed who appeared to be the owner treating his summer employees in a less than professional manner.

“I'll Pass Next Time”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

I'd not been to Alexander's in several years as I didn't remember liking it the last time our family went there. I should have stuck with my memory! The posted 30 minute wait for your order turned out to be about 50 minutes when we placed our order. The sign over the counter to beware of the Pizza Nazi should have been our first warning. The owner must think he is being funny ala Seinfeld or a local curmudgeon that people find enjoyable, he wasn't our cup of tea. We were treated to hearing his views on local, state and federal politics as we were seated at the table closest to the counter. No frills here: order at the counter, get a $1-2 credit card surcharge tacked on to your bill, no plates, just the pizza pan, a basket for your bread or sandwich, napkins, plastic cups and paper placemats on the table. They soak you a bit more with video games while you wait. After waiting 65 minutes we got pizzas that had a woefully underbaked crust. Honestly, they weren't that busy: we only saw 3 pies go out for carry out and 2 pies and 2 orders of garlic bread in the restaurant while we waited. Is their pizza oven that small? The bottom had a bit of crunch, but the middle was very gummy under the toppings. My husband and son said the sausage on their pizza was "not bad". No one seemed to notice or care that almost everyone at our table ate the toppings and left the crust in the pan. After you pay at the counter and your food is delivered to the table by a server who barely acknowledges you, you're on your own.

“North Woods Tradition, Wonderful Pizza”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

Alexander's Pizza in Eagle River has been in business for decades, and it has survived the area's economic downturns over the years for good reason: their pizza is among the best! Especially delicious is their ultra-thin crust pizza, made upon request. Unfortunately, Alexander's does not take credit cards, so cash is necessary when ordering. Also, they usually do not open before 4 PM, so if you want pizza for lunch, the lunch will have to be a late one.
