We are from Wisconsin, but we hadn't visited the Dancing Horses Dinner Theater. We didn't have the dinner theater experience, but we did see the horse show and the bird show. If anyone is curious about what happens, here it is: the show is primarily a choreographed horse show featuring several of the Arabian horses owned by the farm, and they are dressed in sparkling bridles and flashy headgear. But there are circus act elements added, including aerial acts, which are always fun to see. And there is a kind of Powerpoint going on a small screen at the back of the theater (completely not necessary, in my opinion). The horses are beautiful and watching them dance and interact with the trainers and audience is breathtaking. (That's why we don't need the Powerpoint.)
Little kids will love the free pony rides in the theater before the show begins and all the pretty horses. There are three seating options. If you sit along the sides, the horses will interact with you and, even though you can't touch them, you'll get very up close. Photography is allowed throughout the show. The ring is small enough that there are only 7 rows of seats: 2 rows per side and 3 in the center.
The bird show is demonstration of all the things that parrots and macaws can do, and they too are amazing. Their plumage alone is worth seeing, but it's great to see how they can be trained.
There are goats at the petting zoo and a baby animal barn, too.
Something for all ages!
