“We Need To Keep This Going”
Reviewed December 22, 2011

Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, WI has a brunch which we enjoyed on a Sunday. The brunch offers various breakfast items, including those one would expect -- eggs, egg casserole, waffles, pancakes, made-to-order omelets, fruit, and a host of "lunch" items including a salad bar, sliced prime rib, ham, potato and vegetable dished, etc. But what makes this magical for me -- M-Pilot -- is that there is a landing strip right across the street, within easy walking distance. The strip isn't in great shape -- grass growing up through the cracks -- but for now it IS SAFE and available. This is a beautiful setting, on Lake Delavan, and convenient for the flyer. All and all, a beautiful view of the lake, an excellent brunch, a reasonable price (we paid $36 for two, including non-alcoholic drinks, tax and gratuity). But most importantly -- a public-use landing strip. Already the grass growing up is unsightly and will lead to more cracking if not arrested and the airport is closed when there is snow on the ground (no snow plowing) and it is closed after dark. We need to keep this going, so whether you fly or drive, check out a great place for brunch. (They serve dinners in an elegant style as well.)
