We drove through the park on recommendation. What a beautiful park. Wish we had time to hike. Cute free zoo with a black bear we could have watched for hours! It’s a small zoo, but they have some unusual animals, and Elk and Bison roaming large areas. The terrain of the park is beautiful, too. Lots of places for children to play.

We went thru this zoo every day. We were staying on Glen Loch lake which is very near. Loved the outdoor enclosure for the bison, elk and others it was nice to see how much room they have to roam in. There is also the zoo part that has caged type enclosure and there is the tigers and bears in kind of glass enclosure. We enjoyed this zoo and it is FREE . Coming here again definitely will have to stop.

We went here after touring and tasting beers at Leinenkugel's and having lunch because we needed to stretch our legs and burn off some of that tasty beer. We parked in a lot further into the park, but right by the bison. Being from Chicago, we are used to large zoo's like Brookfield, but wow were we surprised once we got up to the animals. They were all right by the fence and super calm and friendly. They also had white bison and a new baby calf!

As you walk around the driving path, you will see additional animal in large outdoor spaces before coming around to the smaller houses and park where you will see a number of other beautiful animals. We were amazed by the two Bengal tigers and three black bears.

There is also a one-room schoolhouse and old log house (only open on Sundays) that you can go inside.

Overall, a great place to spend a couple hours walking and admiring the beauty of these animals, seeing some history, and all for free, but certainly worth donating a few dollars towards.

I wish we had something like this by our home! The park is so peaceful, lots of nice walking trails and the zoo is a nice plus. Animals look healthy and cared for.
