We"ve been tent camping in the Chetek area for several years at different resorts. We even rented a cabin at a different resort. But once we started staying at Lakeshore we kept coming back. We were treated so nicely by the staff. So much so that a few years ago we bought a large camper and put it on a permanent site. Things have improved over time, especially since her prior partner has left. Lynda is doing everything she can to update things around there. The shoreline and docks are very nice!
The cabins are advertised as rustic and that's what you should somewhat expect when you go camping. It's not Sandals or Club Med. If you need something she will do her best to get it for you. She also does NOT walk around with a cocktail in hand. It's either a bottle of water or soda. As for the rental boats, the staff will get one ready for you. There is no room to keep them in the water because so many of us residents keep our boats in. We never had a problem getting one in the past. They have a friendly staff and popular bar and grill available to all by land or water. Fun activities throughout the year. As far as the Chetek area, we feel Lakeshore has good value for your dollar.
