“Charming stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

We don't live that far from Cedarburg and had been there quite a few times, but we thought it would be fun to stay overnight and really get a feel for the area. Washington House Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It is in the heart of the city, close to everything. There is a parking lot in the back just a short walk from the door. Each room has an individual name and apparently a different look and feel. We were in room 305 and loved it. It offered a comfortable king-sized bed and a large double whirlpool with double shower heads. Spa robes were provided along with nice toiletries.

A "social hour" from 5-6 was very nice. Various wines, crackers and cheeses were offered. This is in the dining room on the first floor. This inn is technically a bed and breakfast but it is a larger one so there was no hostess to bring guests together, thus we didn't actually see any socializing among different couples or groups; everyone kept to themselves. However, this didn't take away from the pleasure of it; it's just a different approach.

Breakfast was also offered in the dining room and there were many choices: different breads, muffins, bagels; cereal and milk; nuts; fresh fruit; eggs--scrambled as well as hard-boiled; different types of juices; and of course coffee. There is certainly something for everyone, well presented with elegant cloth napkins.

We definitely hope to return again soon. It is an old inn with old-fashioned charm but modern amenities--the best of both worlds.

Friendly people working there; got a good recommendation for dinner; very clean; quiet hotel despite perhaps being full; and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast with lots of homemade choices in a lovely setting.

This hotel is just so quaint and charming. Our room was small but it was perfectly adorable. Cozy bedding and very comfortable bed. We went to the wine and cheese reception and it was so nice. The breakfast was wonderful. The homemade cherry scones with maple butter are AMAZING. And you can get the recipe. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and very nice.

Always look forward to my next trip to The Washington House Inn. Usually need to adjust the timing around when we can get in. I don't mind, it's totally worth it. Oh and it's great that there is a charming little town right out the front door.

Room Tip: Don't bring the kids, this is best as a couples or girls trip. You can walk to everything, so o...

Our first time staying overnight in Cedarburg we decided to stay at The Washington House. Brenda was very helpful with our reservation and also making us feel welcomed when we checked in.
The wine and cheese social was very pleasant and we were able to mingle with others.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. If you go to Cedarburg consider the Washington House it's in walking distance to everything.

Planned a getaway to Cedarburg and decided to stay right downtown. Little did we know what we were in for. Fantastic experience that included a wine tour, wine and cheese tasting, breakfast. Lovely rooms and amazing service. Wonderful in every way!

The experience was nicer then expected. Friendly staff, Comfortable room. All the Xtras such as the Rivoli Theater, Winery tour, Chhee & wine social and Amy's apples and the wonderful breakfast. I will most certainly come back to this Inn.
