If you plan wisely, the experience at The Anvil will be enjoyable. Fridays are hectic... you know the business going on with Friday Night Fish Fry is always a toll on time and patience... That is why we go during the week, or for lunch, or as soon as they open up.... sitting by the creek is enjoyable and the staff has always been pleasant.

After hearing about how good the food is at Anvil we decided to try it after the Cedarburg Winery tour. We were advised that the wait was 30 to 45 minutes to seat two of us. Funny thing is half the tables were empty. The host seemed to turn a blind eye to them when asked. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere.

The outdoor seating by the creek is great. We waited about an hour to be seated and found that all of the shops close up at either 5 or 6pm on Friday night. The steak was good, but the white bread and heated up frozen vegetables seemed out of sorts with the character of the restaurant. Probably won't return.

Meat, seafood, salads, beverages galore; soup-of-the-day; make it for lunch or dinner. A little robust in the ears, but the staff and menu items make this all worthwhile.
Visit the shops within the complex; riverfront dining seasonal.......

We had out of state visitors and wanted to go to Anvil for dinner on a Friday night. We had a larger party and called a few days ahead to try & get a reservation. Talked to a worker & an manager & neither would accommodate us. They would not allow a reservation, nor would they allow a call ahead on the night of. They said they are busy on Fridays & the waits are around an hour. Why would I take out of town people to a restaurant that is going to make us sit & wait for an hour??? We were all very shocked that the manager had no problem letting a large party that we all know is going to be a nice large bill just walk out the door. I can understand they have policies, but they were very rude about telling us no. I am very disappointed since I live in the community.
