After reviewing Ages Past on tripadvisor we made a reservation. The room was very nice and quiet. The other guests were very informative and pleasant. Our hosts made our stay like being at home. The breakfast was good and more than we needed. This location is centrally located for visits to Amish country, Lacross, and Taliesen. By the way, The restaurant is open Friday and Saturday and Carlos does a very good job. He uses fresh local ingredients and does not overwhelm the food with sauces or condiments. Jeff

With many affordable rooms in this quaint, naturally beautiful area, you can't lose. We took a trip down the Elroy - Sparta bike path one day and the amazing Kickapoo river the next.

Barbara prepares a good breakfast in a small restaurant setting. You can eat dinner there also but should book ahead since seating is limited.

Would highly recommend this little gem. We were very pleased with our stay. Can't emphasize enough how great her prices are for the quality of the product.

The floors really sq-eek so if you or anyone else staying at the house comes in later in the evening the noise is bothersome to the people sleeping.
There was a TV in our room but it didn't even work.
The towels were dirty and smelled bad
There were two small wine bottles in our room with a sign in the same basket as the wine saying complimentary but after drinking the wine during our stay we were charged an additional $9 on top of our room fee. Nothing by the wine stated there will be an additional charge and if so how much. Before we came my e-mails were answered promptly but after we left there was never a response to any future e-mails when I was trying to figure out the extra charges on my bill. The rooms look pretty on the inside and the building is pretty even though it's very old. The breakfast was very good. Overall the bad outweighs the good and I would not stay at this bed and breakfast again.

Dan and i took over this business in December of 2013 so this review is prior to our arrival. Yes the stair case squeaks because the home is over 115 years old. It certainly adds some character to our beautiful facility and home. All of the TV's work.... but we encourage communication.....to bring families and couples together. Video therapy is also a great way to relax - and we offer many varieties of movies for couples and guests to watch.... and the towels are always clean. We do not offer wine in the rooms, but encourage guests to enjoy the patio with a glass of iced tea, lemonade, or even bring in their own bottles of wine. Unfortunately, reviews like this can have a negative impact, but I can assure you that our motto stands... Enter as strangers, leave as friends.

The coffee is fresh roasted and is exceptional, the meals are outstanding and if you go away hungry, it will be your own fault. Plenty of food, laughter, good stories and memories to be made. Hope and wish you could join us again. Thanks for your review.

My husband and i stayed at Ages Past Bed & Breakfast while attending a wedding in the area. I couldn't believe how clean, cute and comfortable this place was! What an unexpected surprise this was. We loved our stay, the breakfast and Barb. Treat yourself and spend some time enjoying this great B&B!

As you walk in the front doors you will see a plac the states " Enter as Strangers and leave as Friends". Well we may have entered as Strangers but we left as "Family". We spent a very
special weekend. Mom (or Grandma) 5 sisters, 2 Sister-in-laws, and 3 Neices. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The whole house is wonderful. The rooms are beautiful, had a great nights sleep. As far as the food.... we couldn't have eaten anythig better at a 5 star restaurant.
Thank you all for helping us Celebrate our Mom. You will always have a very special place in our hearts.
We will be back, you can count on that.
Love, The Davis Family

We rented nearly the entire B&B (expect the main floor suite) for our family to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We had 9 adults and two kids. The arrangements were perfect. We stayed Friday and Saturday night. Barb was very helpful with arrangements. I called prior to arrival with many questions about the B&B and the area. She helped us with restaurant recommendations, biking the Elroy-Sparta trail, a private dinner at the B&B on Saturday night, and even with putting us in touch with the Catholic church in Cashton so that we could set up a special Sunday service blessing for my parents. We felt she went above and beyond.

The rooms were clean and decorated as you would expect for a B&B in rural Wisconsin - don't expect sleek and modern. My immediate family occupied the third floor. My husband and I in one suite, daughter in her own room, and my son preferred to stay in the third floor lounge. Barb and crew set up an extra bed in the lounge for him.

We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch of the B&B with wine and cheese and watching the Amish come by in their buggies. The town of Kendall is a short drive to the depot where we rented bikes to ride the Sparta-Elroy trail. The trail was a great activity for those in their mid seventies to those as young as 8.

Food at the Inn was great. The dining room was all ours on Saturday night. We all sat down to a great family meal without the hassle of making it or cleaning up. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Room Tip: Ask Barb which room she would recommend for you. She set our family up perfectly.

Ages Past was a nice B&B, but the information on its web site is not up to date. The advertised bathrobes and slippers were not to be found, and the gourmet dinner described in the web site was not available. That was a big disappointment for us.

Other than that, the breakfasts were hearty and tasty; coffee was very average. The rooms were nice, large, and beautifully decorated. Unfortunately, our room was not well cleaned (toilet rim had "leftovers" from a previous guest; one towel looked dirty; fan was dusty; a light bulb was burned out; and the floor was not carefully vacuumed). These were minor things, but enough to give it a 3/5 ranking for us.

Location was nice; front porch was nice (an Amish buggy would clop-clop by occasionally). Innkeeper kept to herself but was helpful when needed. As noted in another review, not all rooms have bathrooms en suite.

Dan and I took over the business in 2013.... So I'm not sure how to review this except to say I'm sorry that your experience was not up to par but I can assure you that Ages Past is a quiet and Peaceful Getaway. All rooms have private baths, but two of our suite have bathrooms right down the hallway 10 feet away which are private to those suites. We take pride in our home, the gardens, that patio, the walkways, the common areas and provide ample space to our guests to enjoy those areas. Dan and I also roast our own coffee in house so the coffee is exceptional. I wish you could come back and enjoy some time with us.
