All lodge rooms open to the indoor pool. To get to your room you have to walk through a chlorinated steam bath, it stinks. Pool quiet hours, after 9:00 p.m. are neither observed nor enforced. Children 10 and under are allowed by their parents to play in the pool while shrieking at the top of their lungs (doesn't help that the area also echoes) until 11:00 at night. I did ask the front desk to enforce the rule but I don't think they did. The next day, when I asked if there were lodge rooms not near the pool, we were told no and that they did close the pool at 11:00 p.m (believe the front desk recognized my voice and was quite snippy-this is why I think she did not even bother to ask the adults to quiet the kids). I was polite both times I spoke with them. We like to get up early for a full day of road bicycling and I had to take Excedrin p.m. to fall asleep every night. This was not a restful trip. The indoor pool was crowded and chaotic from 10:00 a.m. until closing every day even though the weather was sunny and the resort has a nice beach area. I forgot to ask about the arrangement of the rooms when I made the reservations so I got what I deserved. This is a very dated lodge which I don't mind but the carpeting was dirty (halls and room) and the bathrooms could use a scrubbing. We've stayed at Telemark, a rustic place and I think it was in better shape. One of the reasons we initially chose the lodge was the availability of breakfast/lunch/dinner as we don't like to drive until the day we have to return home. The food and service were both excellent at the restaurant and bar and grill. Unfortunately, due to the lack of quiet after 9:00 p.m. (tv couldn't cover the noise) we won't be going back.
