Lisa, John and Liam are warm and amazingly gracious hosts!! Upon our arrival we were treated to homemade rhubarb soda, dip and vegetables - everything delicious and straight from the garden. It was both interesting and inspiring to learn about the amazing farm life Lisa and John have created. Little Liam was a delight and exceedingly sweet/patient with our three year old. He even allowed us to play in his lego room!!
Breakfasts were fantastic and there were always delicious homemade snacks to enjoy. On our first night, our hosts even invited us along for a dinner at their neighbors' place. Our second night was spent eating pie around the campfire and enjoying the excellent company of our fabulous hosts.
If you are traveling with a child, the music room has a small attached/enclosed patio where are son slept in a sleeping bag. Just right for a preschooler. I believe they offer a reduced rate if you opt to get both of the upstairs rooms. Lisa/John had toys/books for our son and let us use a wagon to take him on a walk into the woods behind the property. There is also a drive-in movie theatre a few miles down the road. One of the best parts about taking our son to the farm was bringing him into the planting fields and showing him where food comes from. He snapped a stalk of asparagus from the ground and happily ate it up!

If you can give up the air conditioner and big city conveniences for a day or two, Inn Serendipity gives a unique inside look at what it's like to truly live off the land. Lisa, John and Liam serve as gracious hosts (snacks on arrival, campfire, homemade hooch nightcap and delightful breakfast). Our tour of the property (~5 acres) included the organic garden, straw bale greenhouse/playroom, wind generator, solar panels, solar hot water heater and bio-deisel distillery. Our brief stay left us reinvigorated to do our part to live more in harmony with our environment.

I still remember the amazingly delicious muffins, and great conversations with proprietors John & Lisa, and helping John adjust the solar panel, and taking a long walk through the field next door, and having a delicious dinner at a great restaurant two towns north, and staring up at the star-filled sky. Inn Serendipity is a unique place. Not for your luxury traveler, but if reconnecting with what's important is important to you, this can be a good place to begin the process.
