This is a lively place with lots of kids and noise. Burgers are very good and there are quite a variety of alternative type burgers and chicken or steak sandwiches. Fixin's bar has really, really fresh stuff, including cut jalapenos, which I love. Cookie bakery on site is great. Just had a family party there for 8 people for under $90. That's tough to do in this day and age.
Now the negatives. At busy times, especially Friday and Saturday nights, if the order line is more than a few people long, which it often is, the wait line extends out the front door, through the alcove, and sometimes through the exterior door. In Wisconsin, in Winter, this is not pleasant. On my most recent visit, both gigantic ketchup dispensers ran out of ketchup and were not refilled for a good 10-15 minutes. In frustration, I finally put mustard on my burger and BBQ sauce on my fries, a decision soon regretted. Really, out of ketchup at a hamburger joint? They have recently acquired the new type soda machine which allows customized mixing of soda with various types of flavorings, along the lines of an old time soda fountain. This is great, but there are only a couple of these machines, and the lines for self service soda are now much longer and slower than they used to be with the old style machines, making for long periods away from the table and restless kids.
