We stayed here overnight on a recent three casino jaunt with my elderly father. We received a $10.00 free play and $3.00 meal coupon when checking into the hotel each. My dad requested a nonsmoking handicapped room on the first floor. We were given a nonsmoking double bed room nearby. The rooms were clean but the smell of smoke was very strong. I was surprised as the entire floor is supposed to be smoke free. The first floor is attached to the casino and you could hear the doors closing until late into the night. We also were awaken at 2:30am by the sound of the neighbor's tv.. Needless to say we are looking forward to a good night's sleep. If I were to stay here again I would request a nonsmoking on an upper floor.

After being on the road all day we took a chance and called ahead and made a reservation by phone sight unseen. It was wonderful. You could not ask for a cleaner, well-kept and welcoming place to spend the night. I know the building is not brand new but it sure seemed like it. Everything looked like it was just painted or washed or swept--you know what I mean,,, The front desk person was just like the hotel--well groomed and a big smile. The smile means alot. The cost was very reasonable also.

Rooms are tiny not worth the $110 per night, asked for king bed and got 2 queen beds, hair in my bathtub and all over the bathroom floor. Check in is at 3:00 and we got there at 3:30 yet our room was not available . So that took about an hour and the front desk staff was quite immature with their nonsense in the backroom.
Casino is small but nice, we had fun there
Very good food in the buffet. It is nice they have coffee and drinks all of the time in the lobby of the hotel. They get a lot of straglers though sleeping on their couches waiting for people in the casino. I saw at least 3 different people sleeping on the loveseat/couch.

I stayed at this casino on 03/23/2013. This was my first time staying here.
Cons: Check in took about an hour. Apparently our room wasn't clean by 2:00 in the afternoon and we had to wait over an hour to settle into our room. The young ladies at the front desk seemed immature while we waited in the lobby where we sat in outdated furniture. They'd answer the phones appropriately, but as soon as they got off the phone they went back to giggling and yelling - it was very inappropriate and not very professional. They knew we were waiting for our room and they allowed several people ahead of us to check into their rooms. You think they could have said something to us to let us know that there were rooms ready if we wanted to check in! I was very discouraged from the lack of customer service from these ladies. They need a serious talk about customer service and the mood it sets for the hotel! Secondly, the buffet was discouraging. There were a couple fruit flies in the salad area that made me lose my appetite (I still ate it), but there were dirty rags all over the beverage area and nothing seemed to be very clean. The food was just okay.

Pros: I have WAY more pros than cons. Rooms were tidy and clean. Nothing too outdated. Nice TV, nice restrooms, comfy beds, all the amenities that we needed in a room. No complaints at all. The cafe and buffet were nothing special, but did the trick.
At Bingo, we were really impressed with the hotel magician, he was professional and personable, funny and made our pre-bingo session something to remember! He was fantastic! During bingo, we also loved Zachary! He made our bingo the BEST and exciting when it was boring. He'd come by and make us laugh and gave us entrainment but was still able to do his job professionally. He rocked!
The gaming area was small, but fun.I'd definitely come back again!

We stayed here one night on our trip between Mpls. and Madison. For us, the pricing was great--with the Ho-chunk card you can apply for free upon entering the casino, you get special rates for the hotel. For the 3 of us, we got a room with 2 beds for 60. We also received a 3 dollar coupon for each of us for food--either at the buffet or the snack bar. We also each received a 10 dollar card for gambling. We aren't big gamblers, so we just used the free cards. We were lucky and got a total of 31. in winnings, using video poker. That basically meant we paid 20. for our room! The room was very clean and comfortable. There was free juice and coffee in the lobby. Breakfast at the snack bar in the casino was inexpensive. Oh, by the way, the snack bar had great food in the evening--love that hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes! The only downside for the hotel/casino is that it is 4 miles off the interstate.

110kitty,
Thank you for taking the time to review our Casino and Hotel! We appreciate the feedback and always look for things that our guests liked and any thoughts about what we can improve on! Looks like we are on the right path as we have upgraded our quality of food in our Buffet and our Cafe. Also our Hotel has upgraded all of the beds and in February we will start the renovation on our 2nd and 3rd floors-our 1st floor rooms have been totally renovated! Yes, we are a few miles off the Interstate, that's to give you a beautiful 4 mile drive in Black River Country! We sure hope you stop here again during your safe travels! Have a great New Year!
Sincerely,
Tris

Rooms are clean and comfortable. LCD tv, but only 20 channels. Plastic amenities. Coffee pot. Some rooms have a fridge and hot tub. Hotel is small, 3 floors. Pool is small and kind of old, as well as the hot tub. Did the trick tho. Casino is tiny. 2 places to eat on-site. A deli and buffet. Both were nothing special. This is a very small gaming hotel facility. Do not expect much. Probably wouldnt make the 3hr drive again, tho. The price for the hotel is way too high for a casino. Not worth paying for. I stayed there for free. That was good. We could hear our neighbors showering in the morning- it was very loud- they need sound proofing.

Room Tip: Ask for a 3rd floor room near the end of the building...less noise.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel while we enjoyed the casino and buffet. The hotel was very clean and updated. There were a lot of little extras in the room, like mints and lotion. The bathroom was very roomy. Because we spent the night in the motel, we each received ten dollars on a card to gamble with. We also received three dollars each off the dinner buffet. We had fun in the casino, even though we didn't win enough to retire on! The buffet was very good with a huge variety of foods. I attempted to try a bit of every thing and all the food was fantastic. My favorite, though, was the desserts!

Room Tip: There is a lot of smoking since it is a casino. We don't smoke but all that was available was a...
