We visit Hanson's about 3x a month; it goes in spurts. Tuesday, they have a 2-for-1 burger deal that includes house chips and a pickle; you can get fries if you want. The burgers are hand pattied - not the frozen kind. The bun is toasted and the burger is juicy, cooked how you want it. There are a variety of burger styles to choose from: cajun, cheese (variety of cheeses), turkery, bacon, cowboy, etc. The Friday fish fry is cod or walleye, baked or fried, 2 pc or 3 pc - it comes with baked beans, dinner rolls, sometimes sweet rolls, choice of potatoe - baked, augrautin, tots, and a sweeter coleslaw. If you dine in, there are refills on the sides. The fish is coated in a beer batter that cooks up light and crunchy - lemon to drizzle on if you like. The service depends on who you get - I prefer to have lunch right at the bar; she is friendly and attentive. We've had good and not so good service in the dining area - she's tipped accordingly; for the most part - even she is alright. There is double-bubble from 4-6 in the bar; so if you dine outside of the bar and want to take advantage of the free drink - just belly up to the bar for your beverages and let the waitress know you're already covered there. The chili is pretty decent too - sometimes I'll have the soup/salad combo for only $4.50 - side salad and a bowl of soup - that's a pretty decent price point for a homemade soup.
