“Excellent State Park near the Wisconsin Dells”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

Mirror Lake State Park is an excellent Wisconsin State park located just minutes away from the Wisconsin Dells. What makes this park so nice are the following.

The campground area is nicely wooded and the individual campsites are spread out far enough to provide a good level of privacy for each campsite. There are nice bathroom facilities with showers located near the main camping areas. These campsites are amongst the nicest in Wisconsin.

There are miles of well marked and groomed hiking trails within the park, which have some elevation gains in some areas but are not advanced trails by any means. The park is apparently open for cross country skiing in the winter, which must be very nice based on both the scenery and the hills to go up and down.

Mirror Lake itself is a very nice, relatively calm lake surrounded by woods and limestone cliffs. There is a nice beach on the lake near the campgrounds for swimming and for a picnic. There is also a boat rental area with canoes, kayaks, and small motorized pontoon boats. Rental rates are pretty reasonable, and we rented a double kayak and spent 3 hours on the lake exploring.

The other nice aspect about this campground is that it is located very closely to the WIsconsin Dells, so you can easily spend time doing all of the activities there, including a long list of restaurants, and then return to the relative quiet of the campground at night.

This park is highly recommended.

“Great Park!”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

We camped at Mirror Lake over the Labor Day weekend with a group of eight other families. The sites we had were spacious and clean. The park is well kept and quiet. There is plenty to do-- canoe or kayak on the beautiful lake, swim at the beach, fish or bike ride. There are numerous hiking trails as well. The hike to Ishnala Supper Club was an added treat!
Really a great park with plenty to do inside -- and even more attractions close by outside the park.
Great park!

I was taken here on the 4th of July and expected huge crowds. I was wrong. We had a great time! Did some swimming, hiking and watched the kayaks and canoes floating by. I must add that we did turn around on part of our hike because we were right by the interstate (traffic noise!!) other than that we had a nice time. I still cannot believe that this place was right outside of the Dells and was not that crowded on the 4th of July.
In short, I would go here again without question.

“We had fun Kayaking”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

I took my kids, husband and a friend there to try kayaking. Everyone was new to kayaking except myself. The kayaks were in great shape and everyone had a great time. The water was beautiful, clear and calm. The staff was very nice. We also went on a small scenic hike that was also enjoyable. We will be coming back to kayak again!

“An absolute gem, right outside the hustle of the Dells”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

We went there to escape the hustle of the tourism industry in WI Dells and Lake Delton for a day, and absolutely loved it. Went hiking for half a day, and enjoyed the absolute serenity and the wonderful vistas of this place.
Then we went to the boat launch and rented a canoe (first time we had done this as a family of four; and the first time in a boat for our 3 year old son). Paddling on the lake, we saw some excellent rock formations, explored a few shady bays, saw beautiful water lilies and some wildlife up close.

The place is obviously popular with campers who are seeking a quieter alternative to the somewhat noisy campsites in Wisconsin Dells. We didn't stay there overnight, so I can't comment on that experience - however, this is definitely where I would go if I was looking for a place to pitch my tent.

The family absolutely loved this experience, and we can only highly recommend it!
