The park is nice, the zoo is small, but for little kids it is great. There is usually other stuff going in and around the park.

Can't come to Baraboo without a stop at the zoo. What a nice place to take children of all ages. Even our three teenagers had fun looking at all the animals. Only thing we were disappointed with was that the bear didn't get in his swing like we saw on our last visit. That was so cool to see.

If you have young children, this would be a great place for a break from the hectic Dells attractions. Have a picnic in the park and then check out the zoo. As another reviewer said, this is typical of zoos that many small towns used to have. In fact, my mom and her brothers came to this very park in the 1930's. The animals seem well cared for and have reasonable habitats under the circumstances. There are two wolves who are not mangy as the previous reviewer said. The one had been attacked in the wild and therefore doesn't look perfect. The other one is a beauty!

Nice place if you want to see deer, prairie dogs and a mangy wolf. Entire place is about a cityblock in size and it will take you longer to park your car and get to the gate then it will to see the entire "zoo".

This small zoo, part of a city park, is a hidden treasure with maybe fifteen pens and areas for animals, including bears, an excellent community of prairie dogs, wolves, deer, etc. We stopped on a lark and stayed for half an hour watching the animals (including a very old monkey with thinning hair who'd better be grooming a replacement). The surrounding park is shady with lots of tables for picnics. Admission is free, donations accepted, street parking free right by the gate. Chatty, friendly volunteers sell refreshments. It reminded me of similar park zoos that were in many many cities decades ago. Charming, a bit hokey in engaging ways, and definitely worth a stop
