You get to have the rare treat of being able to view the only place in the world that you can see all 15 varieties of cranes while you help support the International Crane Foundation valuable work. The cranes are exquisite creatures and the Foundation helped increase our appreciation and understanding of them. We were lucky and treated to some veery unusual; bird calls. The experince was much better thna we expected.

The International Crane Foundation in Baraboo, WI is a must stop for everyone. They have 15 different species of cranes from around the world in natural habitats. Very enjoyable tour! Join the foundation and you get your admission price refunded to you! Plus you get free admission to over 1,500 zoos and aquariums throughout the United States. What a deal! One stop you do not want to miss if you are in Wisconsin!

The International Crane Foundation is a spot of great beauty, learning and meditation. It is the only place in the world where you can find every kind of crane. The staff are very knowledgeable and the films are excellent. As you walk around the beautiful grounds, you see cranes in the various habitats from which they come--Africa, Asia etc. There are a number of nature trails as well. One hint--go on a day when the weather is cool!!

Here on a hot and non-crowded day. Had an outstanding tour by Monique - very knowledgeable and informative. This is a must see whether you have an interest in nature, or just want to get away from all the glitz in this area. Very serene and just seeing these beautiful creatures gives you a sense of place in this world.

Can have a guided tour (about 90 minutes, and very well worth it) or just a stroll on your own. Can do a short path or quite some walking around depending upon your interest and stamina.

One thing to absolutely consider is becoming a member of the foundation. For $50 your family is a member for a year, which gives you free access to many zoos and other nature sites around the country. We live near the Milwaukee Zoo - one visit there without this card would be at least twice as much - we can now go there anytime we want for free! Best part is that after the tour and the stories about the cranes you will want to give the money just because...

Please do not miss this if you are in the Dells or Baraboo area.
