Literally, one of the "coolest" places around. Best visited on a hot summer day to fully appreciate the cool glen, fresh air, and luxuriant green surroundings.

Wife and I have been here a few times and with the boardwalk it was a great place, now after the storms and floods from a few years ago it's still nice but not as easy to get around and I feel doesn't look as good as it did. Would be great if they replaced the walk but from what I have read it's never going to happen. Still a beautiful area to come and visit.

The evolving nature of Parfrey's Glen is a wisconsin gem. With that said, the floods of past few years have greatly changed the trail. Today you are walking up the streambed. This means walking on lots of rough areas and rocks. So, it's a good idea to bring proper footwear. You may regret wearing filp-flops and tennis shoes. I was wearing hiking boots, and I still got a couple of "soakers" and sliped once or twice.

You can walk here on one of the ice age trails (several mile hike) or drive and park (we drove by twice before seeing the lot). The hike is an easy one; paved for a bit and then a pretty smooth gravel walkway after that. It follows a little stream back into the woods. The end of the trail was a little muddy even though it has been a pretty dry summer. This would be an easy walk for all ages/abilities. I even saw a couple of strollers on the trail.

It's simply a peaceful place to enjoy nature. I visit this place often just to relax. There is a little stream running through it and a picnic area for your family. Plenty of parking. A little hard to find if you don't have a map, so check an internet map service if you are not sure how to get there. Enjoy!
