Owner description: Circus World in Baraboo is America's favorite circus attraction! Baraboo was home to The Ringling Bros. Circus from 1884 thru 1918, and during those thirty-four years the operation grew to become the largest circus enterprise the world has ever known. Although the Ringlings left in 1918, many of their original structures survived.During the summer months, Circus World comes to life with daily live shows and demonstrations. See the world’s largest collection of glorious parade wagons plus 7 authentic Ringling Bros. buildings filled with colorful, big top memories. Enjoy elephant, pony and carousel rides; cotton candy, ice cream, tasty sandwiches and our main lobby gift shop. Experience a live circus performance and entertaining Nothing But Nonsense show with Steve & Ryan. Experience the thrill that never grows old at Circus World!

Circus World combines both the historical and entertaining aspects of the Ringling Brothers circus. At the entrance of Circus World is a museum chronicling the history of the Ringling family and the circus itself. There are original circus posters and props displayed. Other nearby buildings display original circus wagons, costumes, and other memorabilia.
One of the best things about Circus World is the live show under the Big Top Tent!! The one hour show consists of jugglers, clowns, horses, elephants, dogs, and areialists. Another building has a magic show. Also, there are elephant and pony rides for an additional fee.
Circus World is extremely entertaining and educational. My family and I spent the entire day there. It costs about $20 for an adult and it is well worth it.

My husband and I took our kids (ages 2 & 4) to Circus World today. Our first impression was not that great. $40 addmission fee was a little steep, and the first stop was at the food stand. Over $5 for a pulled pork burger that was half the size of my palm :-( The playground areas seemed a bit rundown, and the grounds a little unkept. It was very warm out today (about 85 F), and I hope that the staff was simply affected by the heat, as most seemed very preoccupied and couldnt care less if we were there or not. The animal rides were pricey, and everything was at an extra charge. It felt as is they were trying to squeeze every last cent from us before we left. Typical tourist trap feeling unfortunately :-(
However! My children loved the Big Top show! I had to leave a bit early with our youngest because of the heat...poor performers!...but from what we experienced there, the kids were very excited!
The new exhibit indoors was very well maintained and informative. On our way out, my kids told me that the circus was so much fun and that they had a great day (3 hours). Hearing that made the sting of all the extra costs inside dull a little ;-)

When in Wisconsin Dells a side-trip to Baraboo’s Circus world is well worth your time. Entering through the main concourse passing through the halls of old Circus posters, costumes and a few circus oddities takes you onto acres with barns full of gilded parade carriages, exotic animals, acrobatics acts and magic. Not to forget of course the wonderfully silly clowns, that wander among the tourist during a parade of loading train cars. One building boasts the interactive miniatures that the children cannot get enough of. Cotton candy, hotdogs, and carousal, pony or even an elephant ride will make the day even more memorable.

The circus today is not what it used to be. "The Greatest Show on Earth" is in the past. This is a reminder of what Circuses meant to cities and towns when travel was limited, electronics were not to be found and people longed to hear the words "The Circus is coming!" Not only is the museum interesting and informative but there is an actual circus performance that is just as good or better than the small circuses still traveling today. It is filled with memories for seniors, interesting info for young adults and fun for children of all ages.
