Owner description: Circus World in Baraboo is America's favorite circus attraction! Baraboo was home to The Ringling Bros. Circus from 1884 thru 1918, and during those thirty-four years the operation grew to become the largest circus enterprise the world has ever known. Although the Ringlings left in 1918, many of their original structures survived.During the summer months, Circus World comes to life with daily live shows and demonstrations. See the world’s largest collection of glorious parade wagons plus 7 authentic Ringling Bros. buildings filled with colorful, big top memories. Enjoy elephant, pony and carousel rides; cotton candy, ice cream, tasty sandwiches and 2 gift shops. Experience a live circus performance and exciting illusion shows with magician Tristan Crist. Experience the thrill that never grows old at Circus World!

“Circus World - many experiences”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

There are several attractions at Circus World. They have a beautiful newer building where they are restoring many old Circus Wagons from all over the world. If you are up for a walk there are old barns - one is full of costumes. There is a theatre, which is good for getting out of the heat - where they had a magic act the day we were there. The Children loved it! They have a small Circus performance complete with elephants.
There are several places to buy food and drinks. There are many large trees on the property to get out of the sun. We were there in August, so it was hot! The two newer buildings are both climate controlled.

“If you ever like the Circus go here”

I am a big kid at heart and have always been known as a clown so I was happy not the greatest but very very interesting how it all got started and continued for so long.

“Good time; glad we went!”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

Went in October 2013 while in the dells. Went primarily for the magic show with my wife and 5 & 6 year old daughters. Was there a few years ago in the summer and saw the bigtop circus show which was great. Magic show was pretty good but didnt rival other "big time" acts. However, well worth the admission price. I'm not a carival buff, but was very impressed with their large collection of old circus wagons dating back to the mid 1800's; complete with detailed information on most. Nice scenery in the fall and a good escape from the dells (although only 20 minutes away). One of the most memorable parts of my dells trip. Will go next time to see the Circus show again...

This is an important part of American History - the travelling circuses. For children, it is an eye-opening experience that they cannot get in a classroom. For adults, it is a look back at times before computer games and Smartphones.

It is probably better to go in the summer when they have live acts performing but even in the fall, you get to see a LOT of things from the circus wagons, to historical posters and other memorabilia. A definite must see for the family. Tie this together with the International Crane Foundation and you have a nice weekend trip that is educational and far beyond what the kids will learn in today's public schools.

“Wonderful trip”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We went in Sept after the kids were back to school but still had a wonderful time. This is a really stunning exhibit. The various buildings were really interesting, particularly the costume building. The antique wagons were stunning as was the restoration building. Highly recommended.
