Owner description: Circus World in Baraboo is America's favorite circus attraction! Baraboo was home to The Ringling Bros. Circus from 1884 thru 1918, and during those thirty-four years the operation grew to become the largest circus enterprise the world has ever known. Although the Ringlings left in 1918, many of their original structures survived.During the summer months, Circus World comes to life with daily live shows and demonstrations. See the world’s largest collection of glorious parade wagons plus 7 authentic Ringling Bros. buildings filled with colorful, big top memories. Enjoy elephant, pony and carousel rides; cotton candy, ice cream, tasty sandwiches and our main lobby gift shop. Experience a live circus performance and entertaining Nothing But Nonsense show with Steve & Ryan. Experience the thrill that never grows old at Circus World!

We have lived in Wisconsin for 20 years and have never visited Circus World Museum. We are glad we finally took a day trip there! Such great history and my husband remembered the wagons from when the Great Circus Parade was in Milwaukee. We took our 21, 18 and 13 year olds with us and they all enjoyed. There's a fund illusionist (magic show) and a great one ring hour-long circus! So much rich history from the early days when the circus was brought to town via the train. We spent about 4 hours, which was about the right amount of time.

There's a lot of ground to cover if one's pressed for time. We enjoyed the wagons the most, but wished there's more explanation for each wagon. Some had no information posted for them.

We happened upon the CIrcus World Museum two years ago, and our son was so impressed with the magic show that we came back. Our son has been trying to make his younger brother disappear ever since. The illusionist Tristan Crist is accessible and fun for kids and adults. We're still trying to figure out the illusions. As others said, you can easily make a day of it with the various shows and exhibits. The main show has some truly great acts, with Vlastak Valla's physical comedy and unicycling a special highlight. It easily compares with much larger circuses, like the Big Apple, albeit with much simpler production values, but that is part of its charm.

I specifically drove to Baraboo to visit this attraction, and it was worth the drive. We happened to find free promotional passes to Circus World at our hotel, this was sponsored by a local radio station. The display of old circus wagons was incredible!! Unless you see these in person you can't imagine the craftsmanship that went into building them. You don't see these wagons anymore when a circus come to a venue anymore, no more parades, no more pomp and circumstance like it was years ago, at least I'm told how it used to be, I'm not that old. I can only imagine how cool it would be to see a train come into town with all this wagons and animals on them. The main ticket building had lots of interesting banners, and artifacts from the old circus days. I didn't make it through all the buildings however. I did see the magic/illusion show, it wasn't David Copperfield by any means, but it was entertaining and it was geared towards kids for the most part. All the children seemed to really enjoy it. The Big Top Show was good. The acts were funny and entertaining. Most of the performers were available for pictures after the show. Everybody on the grounds was nice and willing to help you find your way around and answer any questions you may have had. The items in the gift shop were reasonably priced, we even got a free book that talked about the Museum and how they used load the wagons on a train and take the circus down to Milwaukee. Very interesting and fun place to visit, I will bring my children when they are a bit older.

We weren't sure what to expect at Circus World in Baraboo. The attention spans of a two year old and a five year old are unpredictable. They weren't too interested in the circus wagons even though the wagons are spectacularly reminiscent of the days when the circus brought the exotic outside world to sleepy little farm towns. When we went into the big tent for the circus show, however, we were all delighted! Between the animals, the cyclists and the clowns, the kids were enchanted. The laughter of the five year old when the clowns kept up their fall-down slapstick was worth the price of admission.
